Bayesian Health

AI-powered clinical data insights platform

Overview

Bayesian Health uses AI to help hospitals turn raw healthcare data into real-time, actionable insights for clinicians. Its platform continuously analyzes patient data and care workflows to support proactive, higher-quality care, especially for patient outcomes. How it works: a subscription-based platform that integrates with existing hospital systems, processes real-time data, and presents clinicians with actionable insights. It also provides ongoing updates, training, and customization to fit each provider’s needs. How it stands out: it combines rigorous scientific methods with practical AI tools, emphasizes real-time data analysis and proactive care, and offers strong integration and support typical for biotech-grade solutions. Its goal is to improve patient outcomes by enabling care teams to act on timely, data-driven insights inside hospitals.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Mayo Clinic's May 2026 trial delivered 44% more timely palliative referrals.
  • The FDA clearance unlocks CMS NTAP incentives starting October 2026.
  • Health systems including Johns Hopkins, Cleveland Clinic, Rochester, and MemorialCare already use the platform.

What critics are saying

  • Epic and large EHR vendors can bundle competing sepsis tools into existing contracts by 2027.
  • NTAP approval lands in August 2026; failure weakens reimbursement and slows hospital sales.
  • Bayesian's narrow sepsis focus leaves existential dependence on one workflow and regulatory moat.

What makes Bayesian Health unique

  • May 2026 FDA 510(k) clearance makes Bayesian the first continuous AI sepsis monitor.
  • Mayo Clinic's May 2026 palliative-care trial showed 25% fewer 60-day readmissions.
  • Cleveland Clinic expanded Bayesian across thirteen hospitals, validating real-world workflow integration.

Mayo Clinic and Bayesian Health's AI solution cuts readmissions by 25% for palliative care patients

Mayo Clinic and Bayesian Health have co-developed an AI solution to identify hospitalised patients who may benefit from palliative care earlier in their stay. The tool aims to improve care for patients with serious illness and reduce readmissions. A randomised clinical trial at Mayo Clinic showed the solution resulted in a 44% increase in timely palliative care referrals, a 25% reduction in 60-day readmissions and a 28% reduction in 90-day readmissions. The AI identifies unmet palliative care needs and provides clinicians with contextual information within their existing workflows. The solution runs on Bayesian Health's clinical intelligence platform, which continuously learns from clinician feedback and local patient populations. This marks Mayo Clinic's first AI collaboration spanning the entire care process in a complex hospital setting.

Bayesian Health secures first-ever FDA clearance for continuous AI sepsis monitoring

Bayesian Health has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its sepsis flagging device, marking the first continuous AI sepsis monitor to achieve regulatory approval. The clearance builds on the company's prior FDA Breakthrough Device Designation. The platform continuously monitors hospitalised patients and detects sepsis before clinical suspicion arises. A 2022 Nature Medicine study spanning 764,707 patient encounters across five hospitals showed patients were 18% less likely to die when clinicians acted on Bayesian's alerts, with detection occurring 5.7 hours earlier than traditional methods at 82% sensitivity. The clearance positions Bayesian favourably for approval under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' New Technology Add-on Payment programme starting October 2026, potentially providing hospitals with incremental reimbursement. The company has partnered with Cleveland Clinic and University of Rochester Medicine.
