BBioInnovation Institute (BII) is a non-profit incubator in Copenhagen that speeds up the commercialization of life science and deep tech by supporting entrepreneurial researchers and early-stage startups. Its programs provide staged funding (a 12-month Venture Lab with a €500,000 convertible loan) and potential follow-on support (Venture House with €1.3 million over 18 months), plus access to cutting-edge labs, offices, and mentorship to develop science and business skills. BII stands out through its nonprofit model combined with long‑term, hands-on incubation and a strong ecosystem backed by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, offering substantial non-dilutive and convertible financing and premier facilities. Its goal is to translate scientific discoveries into viable companies that improve human and planetary health and help them attract larger external investments.

A meaningful step for NorFalk. 🚀 We've raised funding to accelerate bringing our bio-based chemistry to market, taking our total funding past 5 million euros since we started in 2022. Our first products already match conventional performance benchmarks while being among the mildest ingredients tested, all without petrochemicals, palm oil, or palm kernel oil. One principle has guided us from day one: no new product gets developed unless a customer has actually asked for it. That approach has produced several signed LOIs, more than 100 samples delivered worldwide, a first commercial agreement with an international personal care brand, and a completed tech transfer to a manufacturing partner for pilot production. We're grateful for the investment from Delphinus Venture Capital and a consortium of Business Angels: Glenn Petersen, Jan Sterobo, Kraen Oestergaard Nielsen, Jens Lorens Poulsen, Lasse Bolander, Morten Trolle & Mark Leader, who believed in this early, and for financial support from the BioInnovation Institute (BII) through the Upscalator programme, where we were the first company accepted. 🫱🏼🫲🏽 "As a chemical and biotech engineer, you have an obligation to make the world a better place. You have the background and the knowledge. It is the bare minimum," says Kasper Olesen Falkenberg, our CEO and co-founder. The real work starts now. 👨🔬 | 25 comments on LinkedIn
