Buildforce

Mobile app matching electricians with contractors

Overview

Buildforce connects electrical contractors with professional electricians through a mobile app that lists hundreds of construction projects. Electricians can browse and secure consistent work with competitive pay, while contractors submit manpower requests and receive recommended candidate profiles within 48 hours via an intelligent matching algorithm. Once a match is made, Buildforce handles time tracking, payroll, and workers’ compensation, allowing contractors to focus on directing the work and approving time at the end of each week. The platform differentiates itself by offering end-to-end staffing support, a focus on safety, and a streamlined workflow that simplifies project staffing for both sides. The goal is to improve project outcomes for contractors and advance electricians’ careers by providing steady opportunities, safer practices, and clear career pathways.

Buildforce raises $10M Series A to expand tech-enabled electrician staffing across US

Buildforce, a tech-enabled electrician staffing platform, has raised $10 million in Series A funding led by Saepio Capital. Blue Heron Capital joined as a new investor, alongside existing backers Revolution's Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, S3 Ventures, and Chicago Ventures. Founded in 2019, the Houston-based company connects electricians with electrical contractors for commercial and industrial construction projects through its dual platform. Buildforce electricians have logged over 2 million hours across more than 2,000 projects. The funding will support national expansion and technology development. According to a 2026 BlackRock report, the electrical trade is expected to be the fastest-growing employment category in the US over the next decade, with 9.5% annual growth. CEO Moody Heard said the financing advances the company's mission to help construction trade workers lead more secure lives.

Introducing an Upgraded Applicant View for Electrical Contractors: Skills tracking with verified hours from real jobs

Introducing an upgraded applicant view for electrical contractors: skills tracking with verified hours from real jobs. February 18, 2026 Seth Brown Finding the right electrician for your project shouldn't require clicking through dozens of screens or piecing together incomplete information. Buildforce Services, Inc built Buildforce to make electrical staffing straightforward and effective. The interview process isn't going anywhere, but sometimes it can only get you so far. Contractors need to have certainty that they know how someone actually performs on the job. Today Buildforce Services, Inc is launching a redesigned applicant view that gives contractors everything they need to make fast, confident hiring decisions. New features for reviewing applicants. Electrical contractors already love working with its application view because it's minimal, only showing what's needed to effectively send out job offers to qualified electricians. Now, Buildforce Services, Inc has polished it even further, adding new features so you can see detailed skills data and work history for every applicant. Here's what's new: Cleaner Applicant Lists - A redesigned application list and applicant details view. The new design allows for the display of more data points without becoming overwhelming. The list view now shows skills matched and work history directly in the feed. When an electrician's top tracked skill aligns with your job requirements, you'll see "Top [Skill] match" before you even click into their profile. Skills Tracking - Electricians on Buildforce jobs are tracking every major electrical skill they perform on a shift. See the top 3 skills from every Buildforce job an electrician completes, with hour counts for each. See which electrician best matches your project based on their skills history. Buildforce Services, Inc also show project details from that employment, including Vertical and Building Type(s). Interview Notes - For electricians new to Buildforce, interview notes and their last 3 employers now appear directly in the applicant view. For electricians with Buildforce experience, their performance data takes priority. You can enjoy these new features while staying in control of your hiring process. Each profile gives you complete information in one view, so you can make decisions faster without sacrificing quality. Also new: even smarter time-tracking. Accurate time tracking starts with electricians clocking in from the actual job site. Home clock-in prevention - Electricians can no longer clock in from home. When someone attempts to clock in near their home address, they'll see a message asking them to wait until they're on site or create an absence. A small improvement to keep time tracking accurate. Benefits for electrical contractors. These updates bring real advantages to how you evaluate and hire electricians: * Faster candidate evaluation: See skills data, work history, and interview notes in one view instead of requesting additional information * Better hiring decisions: Make offers based on verified work history and skills tracked from real jobs * Reduced risk: Know which electricians have relevant experience for your specific project type before extending offers * Accurate project costing: Home clock-in prevention ensures time gets tracked to the right projects * More confidence: When you can see that someone logged 50+ hours doing the exact work your project needs, you can extend offers knowing they have proven experience Buildforce Services, Inc built these updates based on feedback from electrical contractors. If you have suggestions for future improvements, reach out to its team. All of the above features are live and available for free when you sign up for Buildforce. Join Buildforce today.
