Burckhardt Compression opens Texas warehouse hub. Burckhardt Compression has opened a 16,000-square-foot parts warehouse in Hockley, Texas, expanding its supply chain and centralising inventory for US and Mexico regional key operations. The facility, officially launched on 10 June 2026, is designed as a climate-controlled hub to support the company's operations across both countries. It forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen customer support, improve inventory management and increase operational efficiency. By consolidating stock previously stored across multiple locations in the US, the company aims to optimise storage capacity and deliver cost benefits to customers. The move also frees up space at the nearby waller aftermarket service centre, which can now reclaim around 30% of its floor area for additional machining capacity and expanded maintenance services. The choice of Hockley reflects its proximity to existing operations. Larry sumrall, head of supply at Burckhardt Compression, said: "Hockley was selected for its strategic location close to the existing service center, minimising transit time between facilities and ensuring rapid access to parts needed for ongoing manufacturing and service work." He added that the warehouse will receive weekly international shipments, many containing components essential for production at the waller service centre. The site will store a broad range of compressor parts used in downstream and midstream energy sectors, alongside accessory components for engine repairs and applications. This includes the TrueGem(TM) parts brand, which supports operators of Gemini reciprocating compressors with spare parts and maintenance kits. Once fully operational, the Hockley facility will centralise inventory from six separate US locations, supporting service centres, field teams and customers directly. The shift to a single inventory hub is expected to enhance responsiveness to regional demand. Centralisation should enable faster distribution and improved access to a wider range of parts through the company's logistics network. The expansion is also intended to speed up turnaround times at service locations, as additional workshop capacity becomes available. For items already in stock, including the TrueGem range, most orders will be dispatched on the same day, while lead times for specialist components will continue to depend on manufacturing capacity. Álvaro grande, head of services US at Burckhardt Compression, said: "The new warehouse is fully integrated with the company's internal systems allowing the global family of Burckhardt Compression companies to have visibility of our inventory. This enables the customers to receive the best support in terms of parts availability and service delivery." The company described the new warehouse as a long-term investment aimed at boosting efficiency, reliability and service quality. It is expected to enhance procurement processes and strengthen operational performance across the energy sector in the years ahead.
Burckhardt Compression has secured a major contract from Hanwha Ocean to supply 14 boil-off gas compressors for seven 174,000 m³ LNG carriers. The deal represents the largest single order in the company's marine segment history. The project marks the first commercial deployment of Burckhardt Compression's new high-pressure BOG compressor generation, designed for next-generation LNG carriers. The vessels will feature GTT's NO96 Super+ cargo containment system and Everllence's upgraded ME-GI propulsion system operating at 330-bar gas injection pressure, delivering lower BOG rates and improved energy efficiency whilst meeting stricter emission and methane slip regulations. Developed in collaboration with Everllence and Hanwha Ocean design teams, the compressor forms a core element of the new vessel platform, establishing a performance benchmark in BOG management for the global LNG carrier market.
