Buzz Solutions provides AI-powered analytics for utility companies to monitor and maintain electrical infrastructure. Its products PowerAI and PowerGUARD analyze visual data from inspections (including cameras, drones, and sensors) to detect faults, assess asset condition, and improve substation security. The software works as a SaaS platform: it ingests imagery and sensor data, runs anomaly detection and fault-detection models, and presents insights, dashboards, and alerts to customers for proactive maintenance and risk reduction. Buzz Solutions differentiates itself through a focus on visual data processing and proactive anomaly detection across both manned and unmanned substations, offering a subscription and service-based model that aligns with utility needs. The company's goal is to increase reliability and safety of energy infrastructure while lowering the risk of wildfires, outages, and costly shutdowns for utility operators.

Buzz Solutions has expanded its PowerAI platform to support utility-scale solar inspections, addressing the growing challenge of managing vast installations with millions of panels. The AI software analyses drone-collected RGB and thermal imagery to detect defects across photovoltaic panels, connectors, combiner boxes and inverters. The platform automates visual analysis of large inspection datasets, identifying thermal anomalies and equipment issues such as cracked panels, soiling and vegetation encroachment. Results integrate directly into GIS and asset management systems, enabling utilities to prioritise maintenance and improve asset performance. The Palo Alto-based company's expansion builds on its existing visual AI platform used across transmission, distribution and substation infrastructure. Early deployments have demonstrated reduced manual review times and accelerated inspection timelines across large-scale infrastructure programmes.
