CD PROJEKT RED

Develops RPGs and distributes DRM-free games

Overview

CD Projekt S.A. is a video game company that develops, publishes, and distributes games. It focuses on two major intellectual properties, The Witcher and Cyberpunk, and also runs GOG.com, a digital storefront for DRM-free games. How its products work: The Witcher and Cyberpunk are expansive, narrative-driven RPGs released for multiple platforms; CD Projekt Red develops these titles, while GOG.com sells games online with a 30% revenue share. How it differs from competitors: It has a strong emphasis on localized content (for example, Polish localization) and a DRM-free distribution model through GOG.com, along with a dual-franchise strategy that anchors its portfolio. What the company aims to achieve: to build and sustain globally popular RPG franchises and offer a consumer-friendly digital store, growing both its game business and its distribution platform.

CD Projekt Red partners with Zero Latency VR to bring Cyberpunk 2077 to life in immersive experience

Zero Latency VR has partnered with CD PROJEKT RED to bring Cyberpunk 2077 into a location-based VR experience across its global network of venues. The collaboration will transform Night City into a warehouse-scale, free-roam VR adventure allowing players to physically move together through a shared space. The experience will be a self-contained adventure inspired by Cyberpunk 2077's world, rather than a direct translation of the video game. It will leverage Zero Latency's untethered technology, including wireless headsets and full-body movement capabilities, across its network of over 150 venues in 30 countries. CD PROJEKT RED's Cyberpunk 2077, launched in 2020, is an open-world action RPG that has earned acclaim for its storytelling and immersive world. Additional details and launch dates will be announced later.

CD Projekt hits record $158M profit with 60% margin, eyes higher dev spending in 2026

CD Projekt SA reported revenue of PLN867 million for 2025, a 9% year-on-year increase, driven by a 12% rise in Cyberpunk franchise sales. Operating profit exceeded PLN470 million, up nearly 30%, whilst net profit from continuing operations reached PLN521 million, marking 2025 as the company's second-best year with net profitability above 60%. The Witcher trilogy surpassed 85 million copies sold, with The Witcher 3 alone reaching 60 million. Cyberpunk 2077 launched on Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac devices. The company held cash reserves of PLN1.325 billion at year-end. However, CD Projekt sold its GOG digital distribution segment and reported higher selling expenses due to platform expansion costs. Development expenditures are expected to increase in 2026 as the company expands its team ahead of The Witcher 4's launch.
