CORT to acquire Dwellworks Living.

CORT to acquire Dwellworks Living. Media Contact: July 27, 2026 CORT Business Services, the Berkshire Hathaway-owned furniture rental and transition services provider, has signed an agreement to acquire Dwellworks Living, the temporary housing division of Dwellworks that will see leadership changes at both companies. The acquisition, which is expected to close on July 31, 2026, pairs Dwellworks Living's temporary housing expertise with CORT's scale and existing footprint in mobility services, spanning a global network of more than 90 countries. Dwellworks Living's service model, client relationships, supplier partnerships, and technology platform are expected to remain in place following the close. James Conigliaro, currently CEO of Dwellworks, will move into a vice president role at CORT, overseeing Dwellworks Living by CORT. Bob Rosing will return as CEO of Dwellworks, which will exit the temporary living business to focus on destination services and other relocation support offerings while maintaining a strategic partnership with the newly combined entity. "This acquisition underscores our confidence in the strong business Dwellworks Living has built and its continued growth potential," said Mike Davis, CEO and president of CORT Business Services. "Dwellworks Living is known for service excellence, strong supplier partner network, trusted client relationships, and deep industry expertise." Conigliaro called the deal "an exciting next chapter for both organizations," while Rosing framed it as an opportunity for Dwellworks to sharpen its focus on destination services. IAM Member Impact: IAM members with corporate housing or destination services partnerships tied to Dwellworks should monitor continuity in existing agreements through the transition. CORT has signaled the current service model and supplier network will stay intact.

Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) unit CORT is buying Dwellworks Living.

Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) unit CORT is buying Dwellworks Living. July 23, 2026 * CORT Business Services, a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary, has agreed to acquire Dwellworks Living. * The deal expands CORT's reach in global mobility and temporary living solutions. * The move adds to Berkshire Hathaway's non financial business services portfolio. Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A), trading at around $732,750.01 per share, continues to lean on its diverse collection of operating companies to shape its long term profile. The stock has risen 37.8% over the past 3 years and 74.9% over the past 5 years, which highlights the role of its broad business mix beyond headline discussions about its investment portfolio. This latest acquisition by CORT Business Services points to further build out in business services linked to housing and global workforce mobility. Investors tracking Berkshire Hathaway may want to watch how this deal fits into the company's approach to recurring service revenues and its exposure to corporate relocation and temporary housing demand over time. Stay updated on the most important news stories for Berkshire Hathaway by adding it to your watchlist or portfolio. Alternatively, explore our Community to discover new perspectives on Berkshire Hathaway. For Berkshire Hathaway, CORT's agreement to acquire Dwellworks Living looks like a continuation of the push into fee-based business services that sit alongside its core insurance and industrial holdings. Dwellworks Living adds a global temporary housing platform that serves relocating employees and corporate clients, which can complement CORT's existing furniture rental and relocation services. That combination gives Berkshire Hathaway deeper exposure to move-in ready housing solutions tied to corporate mobility programs, rather than relying only on traditional residential demand. The transaction also lengthens Berkshire Hathaway's chain of touchpoints around housing, from owned real estate activities in other subsidiaries through to short term stays and relocation support, which may matter for investors who follow how its non financial operations contribute to overall stability. The risks and rewards investors should consider. * | Greater exposure to global mobility and corporate relocation links part of Berkshire Hathaway's earnings to trends in hiring, business travel, and project based work, which can cool if companies slow expansion plans. * | Integrating Dwellworks Living into CORT introduces execution risk around systems, culture, and service levels, particularly if large multinational clients expect seamless global coverage from day one. * | Adding Dwellworks Living broadens Berkshire Hathaway's non financial services footprint into global temporary housing, giving the group another potential source of relatively steady, contract based revenue. * | CORT's larger presence in global mobility services could deepen relationships with corporate customers and relocation management firms, potentially creating cross selling opportunities across Berkshire Hathaway's wider business services portfolio. What to watch going forward. From here, it is worth watching how CORT reports on occupancy, average contract length, and client retention at Dwellworks Living once the deal closes, as these will be key indicators of how the acquisition is bedding in. Investors in Berkshire Hathaway can also track whether management highlights this business more frequently in annual reports or shareholder communications, especially if recurring service revenues from housing and mobility start to feature more prominently in the non insurance segment mix. Any commentary on further acquisitions in related areas, or on new partnerships with large employers and relocation specialists, will help clarify how important this expanded global mobility platform becomes within the wider group over time.
