Overview

Carefor Health & Community Services is a nonprofit charity that supports seniors and people with disabilities across Eastern Ontario through care at home and in community settings. Its programs include nursing and rehabilitation, dementia day programs, meal delivery and transportation, plus retirement living and a hospice in Cornwall. It also runs seniors support centres and a program for people returning home after hospital discharge. Government contracts fund most home healthcare and community support services, while donations, resident rents and some program fees support its broader work. Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, Carefor is governed by a volunteer board of directors.
