Paramount Pictures and Caruso partner to reopen Pacific Palisades' only cinema, the Bay Theater. Luxury dine-in company THE LOT will manage day-to-day operations at the Palisades Village theater. By Dolores Quintana There is finally news about the future of The Bay Theater in Palisades Village. It was one of the landmarks of the Caruso-owned shopping center that has been sorely missed on the Westside, especially among film fans. Today, Caruso and Paramount Pictures announced that they would bring The Bay, the only cinema in Pacific Palisades, back under a new long-term leasing agreement. David Ellison, Chairman & CEO of Skydance, said, "Together with Caruso, we are proud to help bring the Bay back to life as a place for the Pacific Palisades community to gather around the shared experience of cinema. This theater has always meant more than movies alone - it's woven into the fabric of this neighborhood, and helping restore it is a privilege. We're inspired by the resilience of Pacific Palisades residents, and we're honored to help support this community's comeback." Netflix formerly leased the theater starting in 2021, and it closed after the tragic Palisades Fire in 2025. The Bay Theater was built in 2018. Day-to-day management of the theater, which will screen first-run Paramount releases, repertory screenings, "experiential activations...curated events, and special programming," will be taken over by the luxury cinema company THE LOT. It is a luxury dine-in theater with four other locations in Northern California, Orange County, and San Diego. Culinary offerings are provided by ZENTRL Kitchen in the theater group's other locations, but it is not yet known if they will also run the kitchen at The Bay Theater. The theater will also have a craft cocktail menu. A grand opening date for the theater will be announced in the coming weeks. Rick Caruso, Founder and Executive Chairman of Caruso: "The Bay has always been at the heart of the Palisades, and its return is one of the most meaningful signs yet that this community, following the reopening of the Palisades Village this summer, is coming back stronger than ever. David Ellison and I have a shared ambition to make it one of Los Angeles' premier moviegoing destinations. I am grateful for David's leadership and commitment to Los Angeles and the entertainment industry."

Rivian and Caruso expand partnership with 150 plus fast chargers and two new showrooms in Southern California. Rivian is going bigger on its Caruso partnership, adding more than 150 DC fast chargers across Caruso's Southern California properties along with two new showrooms opening in 2026. The news comes from Electrek's reporting, and it lines up cleanly with the strategy Rivian has been running for a while now. Put charging and brand experiences where people already are, instead of asking them to go out of their way. The two new showrooms are headed to The Commons at Calabasas and The Americana at Brand in Glendale. Rivian already has a presence at The Grove and Americana, and these new ones will follow the same gallery-style approach the company has used elsewhere. Less sales floor, more space to actually sit with the vehicles. The chargers are part of the Adventure Network, open to all EVs, and powered by renewable energy. Rollout is over the next year across LA, Glendale, Calabasas, Marina del Rey, and Thousand Oaks. If you live in any of those areas, this is just going to make charging part of your normal routine instead of something you plan around. Owners enrolled in Caruso Signature still get free annual parking across the portfolio, and there's now year-round ride and drive programming baked into the deal. Rivian is also staying on as the presenting sponsor for the 25th Christmas at The Grove, which is a small thing on paper but a pretty big moment for visibility in LA every year. What I keep coming back to is the timing. R2 deliveries are about to start, California is the biggest market for it, and Rivian is dropping showrooms and chargers in the exact spots where future R2 owners already shop and eat and park. None of that is an accident. Whether this scales the same way in other regions or stays a Southern California play is the part worth watching.
Rivian to place more than 100 new EV chargers around Caruso properties. By Caroline Petrow-Cohen, Los Angeles Times The Tribune Content Agency April 30, 2026 4:28 AM Gift Article Real estate developer Caruso is partnering with the electric vehicle company Rivian to add more than 150 public EV chargers to Caruso's properties, including malls and apartment buildings. Caruso owns several iconic Southern California destinations, such as the Grove and Palisades Village, which is scheduled to reopen this summer after last year's wildfires. Rivian is an Irvine-based luxury EV brand that has risen in popularity in the Golden State as Tesla has lost some traction. The multi-year partnership will add two new Rivian showrooms to the Commons at Calabasas and the Americana at Brand in Glendale. Each space will be designed like a gallery and offer private experiences, the companies said. The DC fast chargers will be available to all EV drivers and powered entirely by renewable energy. Caruso did not specify where the new chargers would be installed. It owns residential buildings in Glendale and near Beverly Hills, as well as the Miramar Resort in Montecito. "We are thrilled to deepen our relationship with Caruso, a partner with a shared belief in creating meaningful experiences for its community," Marc Navarro, senior manager of real estate at Rivian, said in a statement. The collaboration will include ride-and-drive experiences across the Caruso portfolio in Los Angeles, Marina del Rey, Thousand Oaks and other locations. Rivian was also named a presenting partner for the 25th Annual Christmas at the Grove event. Rivian owners enrolled in Caruso's membership program will receive free parking at all Caruso properties. "This partnership enhances the first-class retail experience while adding meaningful convenience for our guests," said Caruso's chief financial and revenue officer, Jackie Levy, in a statement. "We're creating destinations that reflect how today's consumers live, shop and move." California has more than 90,000 public EV charging ports and more than 125,000 shared private ports, according to the California Energy Commission. Combined, that's 68% more EV chargers than gasoline nozzles in the state. Los Angeles County has nearly 4,000 public DC fast chargers, the most in the state, followed by San Diego and San Bernardino counties. As of the end of last year, 2.2 million zero-emission vehicles were registered in California, including EVs and plug-in hybrids. There are still shortages of EV chargers in some California counties, including Modoc and Siskiyou counties in the northern-most part of the state and in Inyo County northeast of Los Angeles. After several rounds of layoffs in 2025, Rivian signaled a comeback earlier this year with strong earnings, reporting gross profits for 2025 of $144 million compared to a net loss in 2024 of $1.2 billion.
This week, New Tradition Media significantly expanded its premium asset footprint in Los Angeles, partnering with Caruso to represent its Out-of-Home media portfolio, one of the most prominent networks in the country, and deliver access and connections to high profile audiences.
