Casana develops the Heart Seat, a smart toilet seat that enables in-home health monitoring by passively collecting health data while the user sits. Data is securely uploaded to the Cloud via WiFi and analyzed by clinical algorithms, with a proprietary bio-identification system ensuring that only the prescribed patient's data is shown to the appropriate healthcare team. This enables continuous monitoring for chronic conditions like hypertension without extra effort from users. Compared to competitors, Casana combines everyday use (sitting on a toilet) with automated data collection and advanced patient identification, reducing the need for frequent doctor visits and enabling remote monitoring and telehealth. The company’s goal is to lower healthcare costs and improve care by integrating health monitoring into the home and providing data management and analysis services to patients, caregivers, and providers.
