June 10, 2026: Catholic Charities of Kansas City- St. Joseph (CCKCSJ) announced today it received a grant for $7,000 from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer in the U.S. This grant will be used towards building a better future by ensuring Catholic Charities' on-site food pantry, the Market, has access to healthy food options for families facing food insecurity. "This grant is part of Bayer Fund's continued support for food and nutrition programs in communities across the United States," said Amy Simpson, Director of Philanthropy and Community Impact at Bayer Fund. "We are proud to support CCKCSJ and their work to provide healthy meal options for neighbors in Kansas City, MO." In Bayer Fund and CCKCSJ's goal to see the communities we serve flourish. The funds will specifically support Catholic Charities' the Market, which empowers families to shop for groceries in a dignified, choice-based setting. With Bayer Fund's support, the Market will be able to stock more fresh produce, dairy, and protein options, items that are often scarce for those experiencing food insecurity. This grant strengthens Catholic Charities' commitment to the belief that food is medicine, and that access to healthy food is essential for long-term well-being. In 2025, Bayer Fund awarded more than $3.4 million in grants to 100 organizations, including $2.6 million in support for impactful Food & Nutrition and Health & Wellness programs in communities where our employees live and work.
