Channel Factory has launched AI Slop Detection, a tool designed to help brands distinguish between low-quality AI-generated content and high-quality AI-assisted material. The system operates across a five-tier spectrum rather than a simple yes/no classification, enabling brands to set their own content quality thresholds. The company reports that 21% of typical social media feeds now contain AI slop content, with one study identifying 278 AI slop videos accumulating over 63 billion views. The detection works pre-bid at channel, video and creative level across more than 50 languages, using multimodal analysis of images, audio and keywords. The tool is integrated into Channel Factory's platform and works across YouTube, Meta, TikTok, Reddit, Snapchat and connected television. The classification evaluates content across four dimensions, including contextual meaning, quality signals, brand alignment and cultural nuance.
