Charter's Spectrum Reach unit has become DoubleVerify's first Certified Transparent Streaming partner, aiming to provide greater programme-level transparency in streaming television advertising. LIVE FROM NVIDIA GTC 2026: US cable operator Comcast launched a major initiative to run real-time AI applications at the edge of its nationwide network by using Nvidia GPUs in regional facilities located milliseconds from customers. Along the same lines, Charter Communications is rolling out remote GPU infrastructure at the network edge using Nvidia's AI Grid reference design to handle latency-sensitive, compute-intensive applications. Nvidia SVP for AI and telecoms Ronnie Vasishta told Mobile World Live the operators had detailed "how they're working on an AI grid and how they're leveraging an AI grid to enable their business opportunities". The Nvidia AI grid gives operators a unified platform to deploy and manage distributed GPU resources, providing predictable latency, high concurrency and cost-efficient native applications. Through its Spectrum-branded broadband service, Charter Communications' deployment uses Nvidia's RTX6000 PRO Blackwell Server Edition GPUs positioned within edge compute infrastructure comprising more than 1,000 data centres and hubs located within 10 milliseconds of 500 million connected devices. By placing high-performance GPUs close to studios and enterprises over Spectrum's 100 Gb/s fibre network, Charter Communications aims to deliver real-time rendering capabilities for applications including CGI production. The partnership also enables animation teams to access GPU resources with minimal latency, addressing performance challenges common in centralised cloud environments. "Movie makers need very low latency as they're collaborating around a movie in 3D, rendering, et cetera," Vasishta explained. "Spectrum has many of these data centres and hubs that are less than 10 milliseconds away from these movie makers, and they're able to provide the infrastructure and the connectivity to do that." Comcast's tests focus on three AI-edge use cases: personalised advert insertion; a small business concierge agent; and low-latency gaming. "Those are all built on the Nvidia RTX Pro 6000 server edition GPUs," Vasishta said. "And then Akama [Technologies], a CDN provider which has 4,400 locations around the world, announced for many of those locations they're building an AI orchestration play to enable AI applications to run in those areas as well."
