CityVet

Veterinary practice network with veterinarian ownership

Overview

CityVet operates a network of veterinarian-owned clinics. Veterinarians can own local clinics via de novo builds or acquisitions, while CityVet provides centralized support (HR, marketing, accounting, payroll, technology) so vets focus on medical care. Clinics offer wellness exams, vaccines, diagnostics, in-house labs, urgent care, dental and surgical services, medical boarding, grooming, and a pet-supply retail, plus wellness packages and a PetCare Plus plan. Backed by RiverGlade Capital, CityVet has expanded from Dallas–Fort Worth to several markets and differentiates itself by veterinarian ownership, a strong employee-focused culture, and a scalable back-end platform that reduces administrative work, with the goal of empowering vets to lead clinics and deliver accessible, high-quality pet care.

Clinic center: Chewy Vet Care opens first Pacific Northwest location in Redmond, Washington, Small Door Veterinary expands to Cambridge following Bond Vet merger, and more. The latest updates relating to animal care establishments and platforms. In Redmond, Washington, Chewy Vet Care has opened its first practice in the Pacific Northwest. Meanwhile, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Small Door Veterinary announced a new location - its first since merging with Bond Vet in July 2026 - bringing the combined organization to seven Greater Boston practices. And in Spring, Texas, CityVet celebrated opening its fourth practice in the Houston area. Chewy Vet Care opens first Pacific Northwest location in Redmond, Washington. Chewy Vet Care has opened Chewy Vet Care Redmond at 16595 Redmond Way, Suite 155, in Redmond, Washington, the company's first practice in the Pacific Northwest and its first in the western United States. Chewy's West Coast headquarters has operated in nearby Bellevue since 2022. The practice includes a treatment viewing window, personalized room monitors displaying pet and visit information, and integration with Chewy's Pet Portal for access to medical records and prescriptions. The clinic is also connected to Chewy Pharmacy and Connect With a Vet.[1] Small Door Veterinary opens Cambridge location following Bond Vet merger in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Small Door Veterinary has opened a new practice at 229 Alewife Brook Pkwy in Cambridge, Massachusetts, its first new location since merging with Bond Vet in July 2026. The Cambridge clinic brings Small Door's total Greater Boston footprint to 3 locations, including Brookline and Newton Centre, alongside four Bond Vet practices in Lynnfield, Seaport, Somerville, and Watertown. Together, the 7 clinics have served more than 38,000 pets since the brands launched in the Boston market, according to Small Door.[2] Nationally, the combined network spans 59 clinics serving more than 500,000 pets across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest.[2] The Cambridge practice operates on a membership-based model and offers same- or next-day appointments, 24/7 telehealth support, and dedicated care teams. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. "Greater Boston has been an important part of both brands' stories, and we've built strong roots in the community over the years," Florent Peyre, CEO of Small Door Veterinary and Bond Vet, said in an organizational news release.[2] "As we grow here, we're focused on becoming even more deeply connected to the people and pets we serve, and this is just the beginning of what we can build together." The two brands currently continue to operate under their respective names with the same care teams in place. CityVet opens fourth Houston-area practice in Spring, Texas. Meanwhile, CityVet announced the opening of CityVet Harmony at 2927 Riley Fuzzel Road, Suite 400, in Spring, Texas, under the ownership of local veterinarian Emily Murphy, DVM. The practice is CityVet's fourth in the Houston area and offers wellness care, diagnostics, surgery, chronic disease management, and urgent care. The new clinic also plans to partner with local schools and rescue organizations, including Friends of Faye, in the Spring area. "I want to create a practice where clients feel heard, pets feel safe, and families know they have a trusted partner through every stage of their pet's life," Murphy, a Northeast Houston native who has practiced in the area for more than a decade, said in a news release.[3] "Whether it is a routine visit or an unexpected illness or injury, my goal is to make sure they feel informed, supported, and confident in the care their pet receives."
