H1 2026 product update: AI agents, global payments & smarter retention.

H1 2026 product update: AI agents, global payments & smarter retention. Growing a subscription business is becoming more complex. Customer acquisition is more expensive, billing spans more channels and regions, and subscriber expectations continue to rise. Success increasingly depends on understanding subscribers, removing friction, and giving teams better tools to respond quickly. During the first half of 2026, Cleeng delivered more than 50 enhancements across the Cleeng Subscriber Retention Management (SRM(R) platform. This update focuses on three areas that will have the biggest impact for publishers: * Agentic AI that executes key subscription workflows and provides deep business insights. * Global payments infrastructure that simplifies mobile commerce and international expansion. * Subscriber experiences that reduce friction and improve retention right across the customer journey. Here's what Cleeng shipped. Agentic AI for everyday subscriber operations H1 2026 was the half where Cleeng's AI stopped simply reporting and started doing. Its award-winning, multi-agent AI Assistant - introduced in early access last year - is now a working intelligence layer inside your dashboard. This is not a simple chatbot. Cleeng's agentic Assistant analyzes data, surfaces churn risks, and executes complex workflows across your business: Find growth opportunities The analyst agent automatically surfaces the subscriber segments most likely to churn, upgrade, or convert. No more waiting on data - your marketing team gets AI-curated segments and actionable recommendations instantly, enabling faster campaigns with higher ROI. Launch smarter offers, faster Tedious plan updates, entitlements, and operational tasks are now automated. Describe what you want - a free trial, an annual upsell, or a PPV plan - and the agent builds the new offer directly, so your product ops team can roll out offers and experiments in minutes and reclaim time for strategic priorities. Simplify customer operations Managing subscriber accounts is one of the most common tasks for support and operations teams. The Customer Agent makes it conversational. Teams can simply ask to find a subscriber, review their account, update customer details, or manage subscriptions using natural language, without navigating multiple screens. The Customer Agent also provides a unified view of every subscriber across web, mobile, app stores, connected TV and direct billing, giving teams the context they need to resolve issues faster and act with confidence. | Keen to see AI Assistant in action? Check out its interactive AI Assistant demo. On the customer-facing side, Hi5 its AI customer care layer - gained generative help-center search, letting subscribers find answers using natural, context-aware language queries, plus an AI chatbot loop breaker that surfaces the right self-service resource before a conversation stalls. Together, these capabilities bring AI into everyday subscriber operations, from customer management and analytics to support. Global payments infrastructure for international growth Expanding into new markets means handling different payment methods, tax regulations, and mobile storefronts - each with its own operational overhead. Throughout H1 2026, Cleeng invested heavily in the infrastructure that allows publishers to scale internationally while Cleeng, as your Merchant of Record, absorbs the operational complexity. Pix Automático Pix Automático brings recurring subscription payments to Brazil through direct bank account authorization, giving publishers access to the market's preferred payment method. Where credit card usage is lower, and Pix dominates everyday transactions, it expands payment acceptance, reduces checkout friction, and improves conversion for local subscribers. Read more about Pix Automático. A completely rebuilt Google Connector Its largest commerce investment this half is a ground-up rebuild of the Google connector, aligned with Google's latest subscription architecture. Highlights include: * Precise revenue reporting based on Google transaction values, including regional pricing, discounts, taxes and refunds. * Complete Real-Time Developer Notification (RTDN) support, so every subscription event synchronizes the moment it happens... * Support for Google's Base Plans and Offer structure, letting a single product carry multiple plans. * Improved handling of renewals, pauses, cancellations and recoveries. The result is more accurate reporting and a platform fully aligned with the future of Google Play subscriptions. Dashboard view of Cleeng's fully rebuilt Google Connector Continued expansion of local payments Cleeng also extended support for regional commerce with: * Automated Australian GST collection, applying the 10% tax to local purchases without manual setup * Adyen v6, including expanded Apple Pay browser support. * Hungarian Forint settlement. * Automated PayPal configuration and improved payout billing workflows. These improvements reduce operational overhead while making it easier to launch and grow in new markets. Better subscriber experiences, better retention Retention is shaped by hundreds of interactions throughout the subscriber journey. Every checkout, account page, and cancellation flow influences whether someone completes a purchase, renews, or returns later. In H1 2026, Cleeng focused on improving those experiences while giving publishers better insight into which subscribers need attention most. The biggest evolution yet for Hosted Customer Flows Cleeng delivered its largest-ever collection of improvements to Hosted Customer Flows, turning them into a highly configurable subscriber-experience platform. Publishers now have far more control over how subscription journeys look and behave: * Configurable checkout layouts and post-payment redirects. * Dark Mode with improved branding controls. * Native Gift Subscription purchasing. * Dedicated gift and self-purchase checkout journeys. * Arabic language support with automatic right-to-left rendering. * Additional free trial options. * Simpler embedding into publisher websites and applications. Cleeng also redesigned the User Account experience with configurable payment history, cancellation surveys, and integrated Pause functionality, giving subscribers more options before cancelling. Subscriber Journey Segments: knowing who to retain Better flows work harder when they're targeted. Subscriber Journey Segments classify subscribers into dynamic cohorts built around Value, Commitment, and Vulnerability scores, making retention risks and growth opportunities visible before a subscriber is lost. Segmentation gives every experience - and every AI capability - the business context to act on the right subscriber at the right moment. | Click to interact with the demo More actionable retention insights Cleeng also expanded its retention analytics to help publishers better understand what's driving subscriber behaviour and measure the impact of their retention efforts: * Split Subscriber and Subscription Churn Metrics provide a clearer view of customer churn versus subscription churn - crucial for more complex monetization models * Trial Conversion Dashboard offers improved insights into how trials convert into paying subscribers. * Termination Reasons make it easier to understand why subscribers leave and identify opportunities to improve offers and customer journeys. Together, these additions give publishers a clearer picture of what's working and where further improvements can have the greatest impact. Also delivered in H1 2026 Alongside these major releases, Cleeng continued improving the platform across identity, reliability, operations and analytics. Highlights include: * Auth0 integration, external identity provider support and Seamless User Migration. * A redesigned Webhook Management API with intelligent retry logic. * Improved coupon management, campaign building, and campaign activation. * Customer management enhancements, redesigned custom fields, email delivery status and mobile-optimised invoice emails. * Richer subscription attribution and improved distribution-channel reporting. Looking ahead The work Cleeng delivered in H1 reflects where Cleeng is taking Cleeng: from an SRM(R) platform to the retention intelligence layer for subscription businesses: one layer of intelligence, built on its subscriber retention infrastructure, that spans every domain shaping whether a subscriber stays or leaves. That intelligence will keep moving from advice into action: Agentic AI that doesn't just flag the at-risk cohort or the winning offer, but executes across the lifecycle. Cleeng'll keep expanding its global commerce capabilities so publishers can grow into new markets with the right local payment experiences and less operational complexity. And Cleeng'll keep sharpening every stage of the subscriber journey - acquisition, pricing, support, retention, and win-back - so every interaction is easier for subscribers and more effective for publishers. Its goal remains the same: to give subscription businesses everything they need to acquire, manage, and retain subscribers on a single platform and, increasingly, the intelligence to act on it for them.
