Scalable enterprise AI starts with making sensitive data usable. Enterprise AI is becoming more and more demanding. After years of experimentation, business and technology leaders are putting AI into production and applying it to the data that makes their companies distinct. Proprietary data is everywhere: in customer records, financial systems, operational histories, intellectual property, and years of accumulated business knowledge. The tension comes from the fact that the data with the greatest potential to make enterprise AI valuable is often the data that security and governance teams are under the greatest pressure to protect. Scaling AI means putting that information to work without weakening the controls around it. Cloudera's partnerships with Protegrity and Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX company, help address both sides of that equation. Each brings distinct expertise to Cloudera customers: Protegrity uses native, vaultless tokenization to protect sensitive data while keeping it usable for analytics and AI, and Tech Data provides technical and solutions expertise to help organizations put that technology into practice. Together with Cloudera's data and AI foundation, these complementary capabilities can turn governed data into trusted knowledge that AI can use securely and responsibly at scale. Protect the data at the level AI actually uses it. Data security has always required IT and security teams to control who can access sensitive information and under what circumstances. AI makes those decisions more granular because an application may need information from a sensitive dataset without requiring every field in it. Consider a bank building a model to detect suspicious transaction patterns. The model may need transaction amounts, timing, merchant category codes, and behavioral signals, but it doesn't necessarily need a customer's name or account number in plain text. Techniques like format-preserving tokenization, encryption and masking help protect sensitive information while allowing authorized applications and AI models to continue using the data. Identifying information can remain protected while the application works with the data required for its purpose. The same principle applies elsewhere. A healthcare operations application may identify patterns in administrative delays without exposing identifiable patient information. A retailer analyzing purchasing behavior may need product, timing, and transaction data without giving an application access to every piece of information in a customer's profile. Starting with the use case helps teams draw those boundaries: What information does the application actually need, and what can remain protected? Once those boundaries are established, IT leaders face a different question: where should the workload run? Bring AI to data where it makes sense. Enterprise data rarely lives in one place, often for good reason. A global company may need to keep certain customer data within the country where it was collected. A factory may generate operational data that is most useful close to where production happens. Some sensitive workloads may need to remain within privately controlled infrastructure, while others can leverage public cloud resources. AI infrastructure needs to accommodate those realities rather than force CIOs to relocate sensitive data simply because a new workload requires it. Performance, regulatory, security, and economic requirements should help determine where workloads run. Cloudera Anywhere Cloud(TM) provides a common foundation for deploying and governing data and AI services across public cloud, sovereign infrastructure and private data centers. Teams can bring AI capabilities to proprietary data while maintaining control over where that data resides. Protegrity adds protection at the data level, keeping that data safe and secure wherever it goes, whether on premises or in the cloud. It integrates with Cloudera to apply data protection natively within Hive and Impala, working alongside Cloudera SDX and Apache Ranger to extend existing governance and access controls. Together, the capabilities give technology teams control over two related decisions: where AI runs and what information it can safely use. Establishing consistent policies also makes it easier to extend AI across new use cases. As Muneeb Hasan, Senior Solutions Engineer at Protegrity, explains, "The teams that scale AI are not the ones renegotiating controls for every new project. They decide once how a category of sensitive data gets handled, then reuse that decision. The second project should be easier than the first." That flexibility gives IT leaders more room to design around business requirements rather than the limitations of technology. Turn protected data into more useful AI. For business and operations leaders, the value of those choices shows up in the problems AI can help solve. Years of support cases can reveal that certain customer issues routinely bounce between teams before they're resolved, giving operations leaders an opportunity to redesign the workflow. A field technician can draw on years of service manuals, repair histories, and engineering documentation to diagnose an unfamiliar equipment problem without having to search across multiple systems. And the opportunity extends beyond identifying these types of patterns. Internal policies, product documentation, contracts, research, and institutional knowledge can give employees access to expertise that might otherwise require them to know which system to search or which colleague to ask. A general-purpose model can bring broad capabilities to all of those tasks. What it doesn't inherently know is how a particular company's customers behave, how its processes break down, what its engineers have learned, or how its own policies apply to a specific situation. That distinction is where proprietary data starts to become a competitive asset for enterprise AI. Giving applications appropriate access to business-specific knowledge can make them more relevant to the decisions, workflows, and problems employees actually encounter. Data protection helps teams use that context without unnecessarily exposing the sensitive information it contains. Make secure AI repeatable across the enterprise. The scaling problem becomes blindingly apparent when AI demand starts coming from across the business. Maybe customer service wants an assistant grounded in support histories, and finance wants to automate parts of a document-heavy workflow. Perhaps operations wants AI to help employees surface issues earlier, while legal wants employees to search contracts and policies more effectively. Each project may involve different data, users, infrastructure, and regulatory requirements. If security and governance teams have to negotiate controls from the beginning every time, the process itself becomes an obstacle to adoption. Repeatable patterns offer a different operating model, allowing IT to define approved architectures for common workload types, while security and governance teams establish how different categories of sensitive data should be handled. Individual projects still receive the oversight their risks require, while teams can reuse the architectural and governance decisions that don't need to be reinvented. The technology ecosystem can help make that model practical. Cloudera and Protegrity provide the underlying data, AI, governance, and protection capabilities. Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX company, helps partners and customers bring those capabilities into real enterprise environments. Its Tech Centre of Excellence (Tech CoE) provides technical expertise and resources to help partners navigate complex integrations and move solutions into production. Tech Data also helps partners integrate the broader technology stack needed to support data and AI deployments, including infrastructure and security capabilities. This allows partners to address a wider range of customer needs within a more comprehensive solution. Together, Cloudera, Inc. can help businesses turn what works for early AI deployments into a foundation for what comes next. From governed data to trusted knowledge. As AI moves deeper into business operations, proprietary data becomes part of the competitive equation. The ability to make it safely usable gives teams an opportunity to move beyond AI that understands how an industry generally works and build AI informed by how their business actually works. That's the shift from governed data to trusted knowledge, and why secure and private AI matters as companies move from experimentation to enterprise value. Cloudera expands Enterprise AI Ecosystem to power AI factories Anywhere. Expanding the AI ecosystem with Mistral AI, VAST Data, Neo4j and Cartesia brings greater choice across enterprise knowledge, models, voice, and infrastructure. Cloudera today announced the expansion of its Enterprise AI Ecosystem at EVOLVE26 New York. Building on its Enterprise AI Ecosystem from 2024 and 2025, the expansion strengthens Cloudera Anywhere Cloud as the foundation for enterprise AI factories: environments that continuously turn governed data into insight and autonomous action. As enterprises move from asking AI questions to entrusting agents with business outcomes, each layer of the architecture matters. Agents need connected knowledge to understand business context, models suited to each task, responsive interfaces, and infrastructure that keeps data flowing. Anywhere Cloud will bring these capabilities together through a consistent operating model across public cloud, private cloud, and on-premises environments - giving customers greater freedom to meet performance, cost, and sovereignty requirements. "The next competitive advantage will come from how effectively enterprises turn their own knowledge into action," said Abhas Ricky, Chief Business Officer and GM, Applied AI at Cloudera. "Our ambition is to make every enterprise an AI factory, with the freedom to choose its models, retain control of its data, and improve the economics of every workload. Anywhere Cloud and our expanding ecosystem will connect the capabilities to make that possible - from the first insight to the millionth agentic action." Connected knowledge makes agentic action more reliable. Neo4j adds knowledge graphs and semantic context, helping agents query relationships across enterprise data and understand how customers, products, transactions, and business processes connect. Combined with Cloudera's governed data foundation, this supports the progression from finding information to reasoning over it and taking informed action. "Our partnership with Cloudera helps organizations create a shared knowledge layer across enterprise data in public and private cloud environments, delivering the critical connection between relational data and deep semantic context. The Cloudera Open Data Lakehouse, in combination with Neo4j's Graph Intelligence Platform, allows organizations to query massive datasets, uncover hidden relationships, and power next-generation enterprise AI safely across any cloud or on-premises environment," said Sudhir Hasbe, President & Chief Product Officer at Neo4j. Sovereign voice brings those capabilities into everyday interactions. Cartesia expands model choice with speech generation and transcription for voice agents operating within customer-controlled environments. Cartesia reports sub-90-millisecond speech-generation latency; its Sonic-3.6 model ranked first on both Artificial Analysis speech arena leaderboards at launch. These capabilities support natural, responsive interactions while helping enterprises retain control of sensitive conversations. "Voice is becoming the primary interface for AI, and the enterprises that stand to gain the most are often those bound by the strictest data sovereignty and governance requirements," said Karan Goel, CEO and Co-Founder of Cartesia. "Together with Cloudera, we're enabling the world's most regulated organizations to deploy real-time voice agents at scale while retaining complete control over their data." Specialised intelligence broadens what the factory can produce. Cloudera's previously announced strategic partnership with Mistral remains central to its sovereign inference strategy. Mistral's expanding portfolio includes the announced 1.05-trillion-parameter Large 4 model, Timestral forecasting models, and Robostral for embodied navigation. Its engineering collaboration with NVIDIA and scientific AI work with CERN further demonstrate the breadth of specialised intelligence emerging beyond conversational AI. Model choice allows enterprises to match capability, latency, and compute requirements to each workload. "As enterprises transition to production-ready agentic workflows, maintaining control over sensitive data and infrastructure is non-negotiable," said Marjorie Janiewicz, CRO of Mistral. "Integrating Mistral's frontier models and products with Cloudera's hybrid data platform will allow organizations to build, train, and deploy custom intelligence on their own proprietary data, with full governance across any environment." High-performance data infrastructure keeps the factory productive. The previously announced VAST Data partnership addresses GPU starvation by supplying accelerators with high-throughput, low-latency data. VAST's storage architecture supports Cloudera's containerized data services, helping improve data delivery, GPU utilization, and the performance of AI and analytics workloads across Anywhere Cloud. "Most enterprises already have the data they need for AI. The challenge is unlocking the value in data to create a continuous pipeline of AI inference, fine-tuning, and data analysis to build the next generation of intelligent applications," said Jeff Denworth, Co-Founder at VAST Data. "Together, Cloudera and VAST are helping customers build AI factories that connect data, intelligence, and infrastructure into a single operational platform for AI across hybrid environments." Together, these partnerships extend choice across the AI stack. Through an expanding portfolio of joint solutions and validated reference architectures, Cloudera aims to reduce integration effort, improve total cost of ownership, and make hybrid and sovereign AI easier to put into production.
Cloudera expands AI ecosystem with Neo4j & Cartesia. Wed, 28th Oct 2026 (Today) Cloudera has expanded its Enterprise AI Ecosystem, adding Neo4j and Cartesia to partners including Mistral AI and VAST Data. The expansion adds technologies spanning knowledge graphs, AI models, voice tools and data infrastructure to Cloudera's Anywhere Cloud platform. The additions are intended to support customers running AI workloads across public cloud, private cloud and on-premises environments. Cloudera said the ecosystem is part of its push to help businesses use governed data for AI systems and software agents. Neo4j joins the programme with its knowledge graph technology. Cloudera said this will help customers connect business data with semantic context, allowing AI systems to query relationships across customers, products, transactions and business processes. The focus on connected data reflects a broader industry effort to improve AI reliability by grounding outputs in structured enterprise information. Cloudera is positioning knowledge graphs as a layer for reasoning over internal data, rather than simply retrieving information. "Our partnership with Cloudera helps organisations create a shared knowledge layer across enterprise data in public and private cloud environments, delivering the critical connection between relational data and deep semantic context. The Cloudera Open Data Lakehouse, in combination with Neo4j's Graph Intelligence Platform, allows organisations to query massive datasets, uncover hidden relationships, and power next-generation enterprise AI safely across any cloud or on-premises environment," said Sudhir Hasbe, President & Chief Product Officer, Neo4j. Cartesia brings speech generation and transcription models to the ecosystem. Cloudera said the tools are aimed at voice agents used in customer-controlled environments, particularly for organisations with strict data-handling and sovereignty requirements. Cartesia reports sub-90-millisecond speech-generation latency, while its Sonic-3.6 model ranked first on two Artificial Analysis speech arena leaderboards at launch, according to Cloudera. The company said those features are designed to support more natural voice interactions while keeping sensitive conversations under customer control. "Voice is becoming the primary interface for AI, and the enterprises that stand to gain the most are often those bound by the strictest data sovereignty and governance requirements," said Karan Goel, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, Cartesia. "Together with Cloudera, we're enabling the world's most regulated organisations to deploy real-time voice agents at scale while retaining complete control over their data." Existing partners The expansion also builds on earlier partnerships with Mistral AI and VAST Data. Cloudera said Mistral remains central to its strategy for sovereign inference, with support for a range of models for different workloads. Mistral's portfolio, as outlined by Cloudera, includes the Large 4 model with 1.05 trillion parameters, Timestral forecasting models and Robostral for embodied navigation. Cloudera said model choice matters as companies try to match AI systems to different latency and compute demands. "As enterprises transition to production-ready agentic workflows, maintaining control over sensitive data and infrastructure is non-negotiable," said Marjorie Janiewicz, Chief Revenue Officer, Mistral. "Integrating Mistral's frontier models and products with Cloudera's hybrid data platform will allow organisations to build, train, and deploy custom intelligence on their own proprietary data, with full governance across any environment." VAST Data remains the infrastructure-focused partner in the group. Cloudera said the relationship is aimed at addressing data-delivery bottlenecks for GPU-based AI workloads, particularly where storage throughput and latency constrain model training, inference and analytics. Cloudera said VAST's storage architecture supports its containerised data services and can help improve GPU utilisation and data delivery across hybrid environments. That reflects a wider concern in AI deployments over the cost of underused accelerator hardware. "Most enterprises already have the data they need for AI. The challenge is unlocking the value in data to create a continuous pipeline of AI inference, fine-tuning, and data analysis to build the next generation of intelligent applications," said Jeff Denworth, Co-Founder, VAST Data. "Together, Cloudera and VAST are helping customers build AI factories that connect data, intelligence, and infrastructure into a single operational platform for AI across hybrid environments." Hybrid focus Cloudera is framing the expanded ecosystem around customer choice in deployment models and suppliers. It said its Anywhere Cloud approach is designed to provide a consistent operating model across public cloud, private cloud and on-premises environments, with attention to cost, performance and data sovereignty. Abhas Ricky, Chief Business Officer and GM, Applied AI, Cloudera, said the company sees competitive advantage shifting towards businesses that can use their own data more effectively in AI systems. "The next competitive advantage will come from how effectively enterprises turn their own knowledge into action," said Ricky. "Our ambition is to make every enterprise an AI factory, with the freedom to choose its models, retain control of its data, and improve the economics of every workload. Anywhere Cloud and our expanding ecosystem will connect the capabilities to make that possible-from the first insight to the millionth agentic action."
