Reading Scientific Services Ltd (RSSL) has secured $650,000 from Coefficient Giving for its Novel Foods Expert Network UK (NFX UK), marking the network's first expansion into the European Union. Launched in September 2025, NFX UK helps companies developing novel foods navigate regulatory requirements and approval processes. The network has grown to include more than 260 organisations and individuals across 14 countries. It has facilitated over 15 structured regulator engagement activities and maintains ongoing dialogue with the Food Standards Agency and Food Standards Scotland. NFX UK operates across three core areas: ecosystem building, regulatory engagement, and knowledge exchange. The funding will enable the network to apply its UK-developed approach to support Europe's growing focus on protein diversification, representing the first stage of a broader international strategy for novel foods regulatory science.
