Core Education Launches CoreXP AI Operating Model for Universities

Core Education launches CoreXP AI operating model for universities. Core Education, a strategic transformation partner for higher education institutions, has introduced CoreXP, an AI-powered operating model specifically designed to help universities integrate artificial intelligence into their institutional decision-making processes. As higher education institutions accelerate their AI adoption strategies, many still struggle to unlock enterprise-wide value because legacy governance models and disconnected systems limit the technology's impact. Across the higher education landscape, universities are increasingly experimenting with AI tools. However, many institutions continue to apply these technologies within outdated decision frameworks, fragmented data systems, and incremental budgeting structures. As a result, while experimentation continues to grow, large-scale operational improvements remain limited. According to the 2025 EDUCAUSE AI Landscape Study, AI has become a top strategic priority for many academic leaders. In fact, 57% of higher education leaders now identify AI as a critical institutional priority. Despite this strong interest, only 22% of institutions report having a comprehensive AI strategy across their organizations. Moreover, more than half of surveyed leaders acknowledge that their AI initiatives remain fragmented and disconnected from broader institutional planning. This gap highlights a major challenge facing the sector. The issue is not the capability of AI itself; instead, it lies within institutional design. When governance structures remain fragmented and decision-making authority is unclear, AI technologies cannot deliver meaningful organizational value. Similarly, when universities operate with disconnected data architectures, AI-driven insights fail to translate into actionable strategies. To address these challenges, Core Education developed CoreXP to integrate AI directly into the operational framework of higher education institutions. The platform focuses on restructuring how universities align leadership priorities, manage institutional data, and allocate financial resources. First, CoreXP establishes executive alignment by clarifying institutional priorities, governance structures, and decision rights. By doing so, leadership teams can make faster and more coordinated decisions around AI initiatives. Next, the platform creates a unified operating intelligence layer that connects critical data from finance, enrollment, and academic departments. Consequently, institutions can move beyond traditional incremental budgeting and instead make strategic decisions based on margin performance and long-term return on investment. Additionally, CoreXP improves net tuition revenue forecasting and academic portfolio planning by combining pricing strategies, enrollment demand data, cost structures, and labor market insights. This integrated modeling enables universities to align academic programs more closely with both financial sustainability and workforce trends. Finally, the model provides governing boards with forward-looking visibility into financial risks and capital exposure. Instead of relying solely on historical reporting, boards can transition toward predictive governance, allowing them to anticipate challenges and make proactive decisions. "Higher education is not short on ambition. What it lacks is an operating model built for the speed and complexity of the AI era," said Kamalika Sandell, CEO of Core Education. "CoreXP helps institutions redesign how decisions are made and capital is deployed so AI becomes a force multiplier, strengthening financial resilience while advancing mission."

Core Education launches CoreXP, first AI-powered operating model for higher education institutions

Core Education has launched CoreXP, an AI-powered operating model designed specifically for higher education institutions. The platform addresses a critical gap: whilst 57% of higher education leaders identify AI as a strategic priority, only 22% have an institution-wide AI strategy, according to the 2025 EDUCAUSE AI Landscape Study. CoreXP integrates AI into institutional operations by establishing executive alignment, building shared operating intelligence that connects finance, enrollment and academic data, and strengthening revenue forecasting through integrated modelling. The system also provides boards with predictive governance capabilities. "CoreXP helps institutions redesign how decisions are made and capital is deployed so AI becomes a force multiplier," said CEO Kamalika Sandell. The company will introduce CoreXP through executive briefings starting 25 March.
