Corti Launches Specialized Healthcare Ai Infrastructure, Challenging Industry Misuse Of General-Purpose Models

New purpose-built models, inspired by medical residency, tackle rising distractions and "pilot paralysis" from healthcare's increasing reliance on general-purpose AINEW YORK, Jan. 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- A new report from Corti and YouGov has revealed that a third of U.S. healthcare professionals using AI are spending up to three additional hours weekly correcting it. This revelation comes as Corti today announced a breakthrough approach to healthcare AI: specialized foundation models designed and trained to help AI deliver on its original promise to healthcare - to make time for patients, not take it away. The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for healthcare AI adoption. While 74 percent of healthcare professionals in Europe support AI use in practice, 52 percent say they wouldn't feel confident using current AI solutions in their work. This crisis of confidence has contributed to what industry experts call "pilot paralysis" - widespread AI trials that fail to advance beyond testing due to accuracy, cost, and integration challenges."We could be entering a golden age of healthcare AI, with over 60 apps now focused on scribing alone," said Lars Maaloe, co-founder and CTO of Corti

Burnout Crisis: Why Uk Doctors Are Missing Out On Ai Lifelines

The UK is lagging behind in applying AI to healthcare, with 73 percent of healthcare professionals (HCPs) having never used AI tools at workLack of opportunity to use AI to help with workloads comes despite staffing crisis - 26 percent of UK HCPs think about leaving the field on a weekly basisNew report reveals the varying attitudes to AI adoption across Europe as professionals demonstrate a strong appetite for AI to reduce admin (42 percent) and enhance clinical decision-making (32 percent)London, 28th January 2025 – The UK healthcare sector is at risk of falling behind its European counterparts in adopting AI, according to a major new pan-European study. The vast majority of healthcare professionals in the UK are not using AI at work, with 73 percent reporting that they have never done so - a higher rate than any other nation in the study1. This is despite these tools being designed to alleviate some of the biggest issues plaguing the sector - high workloads, burdensome admin and persistent NHS staff shortages. The report - produced by healthcare AI research and development company Corti and YouGov - suggests that the UK’s reluctance to adopt AI is driven by several factors. A fear of errors is the biggest barrier - with 62 percent of UK HCPs citing this as their top concern, compared to just 44 percent in France, 53 percent in Germany and 56 percent in Denmark.Likewise, confidence is also a major hurdle, with less than one in four UK HCPs feeling comfortable with their ability to use AI tools, well below the European average of 31 percent. Compounding this is a lack of awareness, as 35 percent of UK HCPs admit they are unaware of how AI could be applied to their work - such as for automating patient notes or supporting decision-making.The UK’s hesitancy is driven in part by the huge influx of general purpose AI models providing the infrastructure for the majority of apps flooding the healthcare market today - most of which are fragmented tools that do not integrate well with existing systems and are built on general AI models rather than API infrastructures designed specifically for a healthcare setting. As such, many AI solutions are failing to meet the complex needs of over-stretched health workers and ultimately fail to make it out of pilot testing.Andreas Cleve, co-founder and CEO of Corti, said: "AI is key to the future success of healthcare. In a few short years, we’ve witnessed exciting progress
