Mid-Michigan community members honored at Gift of Life Michigan's 2026 Champions Gala. April 6, 2026 Two Mid-Michigan advocates are being recognized by Gift of Life Michigan for their leadership in promoting organ, eye and tissue donation across the region. David Doman from Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw and Deb Gustafson of Davison will be honored at the organization's 2026 Champions Gala taking place May 1 at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace (formerly known as Suburban Collection Showplace). Through hospital leadership and volunteer outreach, their work strengthens education, awareness and ensures families across Mid-Michigan have the opportunity to honor the legacy of loved ones through donation. "Champions like David and Deb help ensure the life-saving message of organ donation reaches communities throughout Mid-Michigan," said Dorrie Dils, president and CEO of Gift of Life Michigan. "Their dedication supports donor families, strengthens hospital partnerships and helps more people understand the impact of saying yes to donation." Hospital liaison award - David Doman. As hospital liaison at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw, David Doman has helped strengthen the culture of donation within the hospital over the past several years. He supports Gift of Life Michigan education initiatives, leadership presentations and staff engagement while promoting timely referrals and donation awareness across clinical teams. He also leads Covenant's annual donor memorial flag-raising ceremony and Donate Life Month activities, ensuring donors and their families are honored while reinforcing the hospital's commitment to saving lives through donation.
