Crown Agents Bank announces strategic partnership with KEB Hana Bank for cross-border payments in South Korea. * Banking * 12.03.2026 12:15 pm Crown Agents Bank (CAB), a leading B2B FX and payments provider delivering prosperity in the fast-growth and dynamic markets it serves, has signed a new commercial partnership agreement with Hana Bank, one of South Korea's most prestigious and respected financial institutions. This partnership strengthens CAB's longstanding commitment to building direct, in-market banking relationships that allow clients to benefit from improved access, transparency and efficiency when trading and settling in emerging and developed markets. Through this agreement, CAB clients will be able to settle directly in Korean Won (KRW), which will eliminate reliance on intermediary currencies such as USD, EUR, or GBP. That direct access will reduce settlement times, mitigate the "multi-hop" challenges that often inflate costs, and provide clients with more competitive FX rates and payment pricing. The Korean central bank has eased off on some of its regulations in recent years, which has allowed more products and services for customers and clients. Neeraj Kapur, Group CEO, Crown Agents Bank, said: "Direct KRW settlement is a significant enhancement for institutions operating in or with exposure to South Korea, and Theslideapp is proud to bring this capability to its global client base. In a short space of time, it is already becoming effective for its clients. "This achievement, underpinned by our expanding international presence, not only enables CAB to deliver best-in-class foreign exchange pricing, faster settlement times and greater transparency to clients, but also positions us to connect with new clients and opportunities across our global network." Chiwoo Lee, Deputy General Manager, Hana Bank London, said: "Crown Agents Bank is a globally recognised institution with strong expertise in payments and foreign exchange, and Theslideapp is pleased to partner with them to deliver more efficient direct KRW settlement for international financial institutions. "This collaboration combines CAB's global network capabilities with Hana Bank's expertise in the Korean Won market, enhancing cross-border efficiency and access to Korea. As global demand for Korean-related assets continues to grow, Hana Bank will further expand international access across a broad range of KRW-denominated products, including FX, equities and fixed income." * 12.03.2026 12:25 pm * 12.03.2026 12:15 pm * 12.03.2026 08:25 am * 11.03.2026 10:15 am * 11.03.2026 08:45 am * 11.03.2026 08:25 am * 09.03.2026 10:15 am * 09.03.2026 08:55 am * 06.03.2026 02:45 pm * 06.03.2026 09:10 am * 05.03.2026 11:15 am * 04.03.2026 09:40 am

Crown Agents Bank (CAB) is pleased to announce that its new Middle Eastern Subsidiary, CAB Global Markets, has received an In-Principle Approval (IPA) from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of ADGM for a Category 2 Financial Services Permission. This marks a significant milestone in CAB's strategy to deliver prosperity to the emerging markets it serves around the world. The licence will accelerate access to government, central banking and other important stakeholders, opening doors and creating unique opportunities and relationships across CAB's global network. The company is also pleased to announce that Arif Khan has been appointed as Senior Executive Officer to lead CAB Global Markets. Arif will be spearheading the organisation's growth and expansion in the region. Arif brings a deep understanding of cross-border transactions, financial markets, credit and risk having worked closely with sovereigns, multinational corporates, and development finance institutions in the region. His career spans both developed and emerging markets, where he has advised corporates and institutions on complex financing structures, capital raising, and strategic investments. "Securing this IPA is a pivotal step in our global roadmap and a strong endorsement of our strategic focus on the region and the wider emerging markets which we are focused on delivering prosperity to." said Neeraj Kapur, CEO of CAB. "We are committed to scaling our offering in Abu Dhabi and contributing to the UAE's vision of becoming a leading international financial centre. Our aim is to bring sophisticated, institutional grade, transactional solutions to the region, which unlock opportunities for long-term growth for clients operating in the world's most vibrant and dynamic markets." CAB's growth into Abu Dhabi reflects the business's recognition of the UAE's rapidly growing status as a global financial centre, underpinned by bold economic vision, forward-looking regulation, and strong institutional frameworks. Abu Dhabi's strategic location and economic vision make it a natural hub for CAB's mission of driving financial inclusion and prosperity across emerging markets.
