Curve Dental commits $200M to R&D as revenue nears $100M milestone

Curve Dental has announced a $200 million investment in research and development as the company approaches $100 million in annual recurring revenue. The dental software provider, which holds around 20% of the cloud dental practice market, has invested $100 million in R&D over the past eight years. Chairman and CEO Dave Cormack said the company is profitable and growing whilst reinvesting tens of millions of dollars annually in product development and customer services. Curve's platform serves dental practices across the United States and Canada with AI-driven cloud-based practice management software. Cormack predicts significant consolidation in the dental software market, estimating that over 40% of practice management software vendors will not exist within 36 to 48 months. He noted that 85% of North America's roughly 160,000 dental practices still use legacy client-server systems.

Curve Dental announces $200 million R&D investment.

Curve Dental announces $200 million R&D investment. As Curve Approaches $100 Million in Annual Recurring Revenue, Chairman and CEO Dave Cormack Predicts Major Shift in Dental Software Market ALPHARETTA, Ga., Aug. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Curve Dental(R), the leader in modern AI-driven all-in-one dental software with an integrated end-to-end cloud platform, today announced a further $200 million investment in its Curve Hero product and comprehensive ecosystem of native best-in-class capabilities. Record-breaking year-over-year growth since 2018, driven by rapid customer adoption, has enabled Curve to reinvest tens of millions of dollars each year in product development and customer services. The company is rapidly approaching $100 million in annual recurring revenue, almost entirely generated through organic growth. With around 20% of the cloud dental practice market, Curve is fulfilling its promise to deliver best-in-class native functionality for single-location, small-group, and DSO practices - without requiring customers to contract with and manage multiple software vendors. Recognizing market demand for an open platform, Curve's API capability supports vendor integrations that meet rigorous standards for quality, security, reliability, interoperability and customer experience. Dave Cormack, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Curve Dental and a 40-year veteran of high-growth software companies, reflected on the company's journey: "Nine years ago, today's leadership team at Curve, having previously grown Brightree from a startup to the most successful cloud software platform in the homecare market, fell in love with the opportunity to deliver the most compelling solution for the dental industry when Health Technology Net saw that close to 100% of the market was relying on 20- to 30-year-old client-server solutions. No other opportunity in healthcare came close. Discover more Pharmaceuticals Medical Facilities & Services "Health Technology Net acquired Curve Dental because it provided an excellent foundation for Health Technology Net to build a fully integrated, end-to-end cloud platform. In my experience, multi-practice software cannot be scaled down for single locations or small-group practices. It must be built natively from the ground up - and that is exactly what Health Technology Net did. "After $100 million of R&D investment in the last eight years, Curve has continually modernized into a fully native, single sign-on platform for solo practices to small multi-location groups and DSOs, including patient engagement, intelligent phone integration, advanced eligibility, credit card payments, auto payment posting, RCM, membership plans, orthodontics workflow, business intelligence and more. Curve is giving the dental industry a new way to practice and a better way to grow." Investing for the Long Term Cormack said Curve's financial position gives practices confidence that the company will continue investing for the long term: "As a $100 million annual recurring revenue business, Health Technology Net is profitable and growing while reinvesting tens of millions of dollars each year in product development and customer services. As such, the dental market can be confident that Health Technology Net is here for the long term. "My strong advice to any dental practice considering a move to a cloud system is to make sure that the software vendor is profitable, so it can continue to reinvest, and compare what they plan to spend on research and development against Curve's $200 million commitment." Reflecting on Curve's extensive R&D commitment and what he believes will be a major consolidation of the dental software market, Cormack said: "Its leadership has lived this journey many times and, as they say, Health Technology Net has seen this movie before, bought the T-shirt, and Health Technology Net always deliver for its customers. "With 85% of the roughly 160,000 dental practices in North America still on a legacy client-server system, Curve will focus all its efforts on delivering the most compelling native end-to-end cloud platform in the market - one that meets the needs of practices of all sizes and stages of growth, so that they'll never outgrow Curve. "We will achieve that by continuing to hire and retain great people who have a passion and desire to delight our customers. It's the only way." A Market at an Inflection Point Cormack believes the shift from legacy client-server systems to integrated cloud platforms will also drive significant consolidation across the dental software market over the next several years. "A dental software death spiral is upon Health Technology Net. As the market rapidly shifts from legacy systems to the cloud, the vendor market across the ecosystem is oversaturated - from core practice-management platforms to add-on solutions for patient engagement, analytics, imaging and more. Discover more Medical Devices & Equipment Engineering & Technology Internet & Telecom "But moving to the cloud is only part of the equation. Practices should look beyond the cloud label to understand how a platform has actually been built and how well its products work together. While Curve has been 100% natively-built, many competitors have acquired a mismatched collection of products that leaves practices with fragmented data, multiple user interfaces, inconsistent workflows and integration complexity. These platforms do anything but operate as one unified system. "I predict that over 40 percent of practice management software vendors, with an alarming number burning through cash to buy market share at the expense of R&D and customer services, will not exist in 36 to 48 months. The same pressure will affect point solutions that create more complexity than differentiated customer value, as AI-driven cloud platforms increasingly deliver those capabilities natively in a fully integrated manner and at a lower total cost of ownership than practices currently employ through licensing software from five or six different vendors. Cormack concluded by returning to Curve's commitment to its customers: "Its customers' success is how Health Technology Net measure its own success. Health Technology Net work to earn their business every single day by listening, responding promptly and continually keeping the Curve Hero platform ahead of its competition. "If you haven't seen Curve in action recently - or at all - I encourage you to talk with us about the challenges you face and see how we can better serve you." Curve Dental launches voice-driven clinical AI Suite.

Curve Dental launches voice-driven clinical AI Suite. * July 15, 2026 * 3 minutes read * 1 hour ago New voice-driven AI suite helps dental teams streamline documentation, charting, and perio workflows directly inside Curve's cloud-based practice management platform. Curve Dental(R), the leading provider of all-in-one, cloud-based dental practice management software, recently announced the launch of Curve Care+, a native, voice-driven clinical AI suite designed to help providers reduce documentation burden, streamline charting, and create more time for patient care. Embedded directly into the Curve platform, Curve Care+ introduces three native AI-powered solutions - Notes+, Charting+, and Perio+ - giving dental teams ambient intelligence that lives in their existing clinical workflows, without bolted-on extensions, separate logins, or disconnected third-party tools. "Dental teams are under constant pressure to do more with less time," said Suzanne Henderson, Chief Technology Officer at Curve Dental. "Curve Care+ was built to further simplify the tools providers already use every day, helping teams work more efficiently while preserving the human connection at the center of patient care." A New Approach to Clinical Documentation Curve Care+ is designed around a simple goal: ensuring documentation happens while care is happening - not during lunch breaks, between appointments, or after hours. Offered as part of the broader Curve+ AI Suite, the Curve Care+ clinical AI solution includes the following: * Notes+ ambiently captures clinical conversations and drafts provider-ready notes in either SOAP format or the practice's own templates. * Charting+ enables providers to update the odontogram through voice commands as they call out conditions, tooth statuses, and charting shortcuts. * Perio+ allows hygienists to complete periodontal charting independently using voice commands for pocket depths and conditions. Curve Care+ also extends beyond the operatory. Providers can capture voice notes in the Curve Mobile app, supporting the way dental teams move both across operatories and on the go. Creating More Capacity Across the Clinical Day As staffing challenges continue to affect practices, Curve Care+ serves as a workforce multiplier, helping providers and hygienists complete documentation more efficiently, reduce administrative burden, and create additional clinical capacity without increasing headcount. With Curve Care+, practices can: * Reduce time spent on manual documentation * Minimize after-hours charting and administrative work * Complete restorative and periodontal charting through voice-driven workflows * Improve provider focus during patient interactions * Deliver clearer, more comprehensive clinical narratives that help increase first-pass acceptance * Eliminate the need for disconnected third-party AI tools * Keep patient information within a secure, HIPAA-compliant environment Early users have reported that their practices are saving more than four hours of daily documentation time, including completing perio exams 50% faster with the new AI tools. These efficiencies help practices do more with existing staff while maintaining a high standard of care. Building the Future of Dental Practice Management The launch of Curve Care+ marks another step in Curve Dental's strategy to bring purpose-built intelligence into clinical, financial, and patient engagement workflows. "We are focused on practical AI that solves real operational challenges across the practice, from clinical documentation to revenue cycle and patient engagement, without forcing teams into disconnected systems," added Henderson. Curve Care+ is now available for dental practices throughout the United States and Canada. For more information, visit curvedental.com/curve-care. PR Newswire Today at 9:24am PDT PR Newswire ALPHARETTA, Ga., April 9, 2026 A people-first culture drives the service excellence that sets Curve apart ALPHARETTA, Ga., April 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Curve Dental(R), a leading provider of cloud-based practice management software for dental professionals, today announced it has been named a 2026 USA TODAY Top Workplaces award winner. The award is based entirely on employee feedback gathered through a confidential survey administered by Energage, the HR research and technology company behind the Top Workplaces program for the last two decades. In a competitive dental software market, Curve Dental has built its name on something that can't be replicated by software alone: best-in-class customer service. And it starts from within. When employees feel supported, valued, and genuinely invested in their work, that energy translates directly into the experience dental practices receive every day - from the technology they rely on to the people who stand behind it. When asked to describe Curve Dental's culture in their own words, employees used terms like "friendly", "inclusive", "supportive", and "team-oriented". Survey results highlighted particular strengths in manager effectiveness - with employees reporting that their managers actively support their growth, respect their time, and genuinely care about their concerns. "In the dental software space, our customer service and product set us apart - and that doesn't happen by accident," said Jana Macon, President of Curve Dental. "It happens because we have a team that genuinely wants to be here and shares a unified vision to serve our customers with purpose and passion. We've always believed that when you invest in your people, it shows up everywhere - in the product, in the support we offer our customers, and in the relationships we build across the dental community." Curve Dental's core values - collaborative, focused, trustworthy, gracious, and innovative - shape how teams work together and how the company shows up for the dental practices it continues to serve. The company strives to foster an environment where every employee feels heard, supported, and connected to work that matters. "Every decision our practices make is about their patients. Every decision we make is about our practices. That's why being named a 2026 USA TODAY Top Workplaces winner matters - not only as a milestone for us, but as validation of how we show up for our dental practices," adds Macon. "This recognition is proof that a purpose-driven team creates happy customers, and that's the foundation everything else is built on."
