DF Capital

DF Capital

Inventory-finance specialist and retail deposits

Overview

DF Capital is a UK specialist bank that provides working capital through two main streams: commercial lending to dealers and manufacturers and personal savings products for retail investors. It concentrates on inventory (floorplan) finance, funding stock from order to sale on a pay-as-sold basis, with an online DF Connect portal and DF Choice for asset-level repayment customization. The bank funds itself with retail deposits and has expanded into Structured Finance and consumer hire purchase finance through its dealer network following FCA authorization. Its goal is to support UK SMEs by offering reliable working capital, growth financing, and diversified funding while growing its dealer and manufacturer network and product range.

  • Q1 2026 origination hit £469m, while retail deposits exceeded £1bn for the first time.
  • June 2026 trading showed at least £13m H1 PBT and cost of credit below 1%.
  • 2025 loan book reached £846m, and management expects FY26 to exceed £900m.

What critics are saying

  • Asset finance remains tiny at £40m versus £915m loan book, risking execution dilution in 2026.
  • Dependence on UK dealer inventories ties earnings to stocking cycles and customer concentration.
  • If deposit growth stalls after £1bn, funding costs rise and loan growth slows quickly.

  • DF Capital combines retail deposits, structured finance, and asset finance under one regulated bank.
