DirecTV to launch Curated Multiview for live sports.

DirecTV to launch Curated Multiview for live sports. Published 16 hours ago The offering will bring together marquee live sports matchups into a single view DirecTV is updating its user interface with the planned launch of Curated Multiviews, a new feature that brings together live games in a single view, scheduled around what's on that day. DirecTV noted that Curated Multiviews are currently rolling out to customers and will be available to eligible customers by August 27. Each Multiview features live games from networks already included in a customer's package, laid out together and ready to watch. When a Multiview is available for the game a user is watching, that viewer will see a "Multiview" button in the video player. Users will only see Multiviews for networks included in their packages and games available in their areas. DirecTV said that its sports team curates each of these Multiview around two ideas: marquee matchups fans may want to follow together and themed slates built around the day's action. That could mean an SEC Saturday lineup one weekend or a collection of NFL games airing across CBS and FOX on Sunday, the operator explained. DirecTV noted that the Curated Multiviews aren't replacing existing Mix Channels. Those always-on channels bring together a set lineup of live networks in one place, making it easy to keep an eye on sports, news, weather and more. DIRECTV rolling out curated multiview for football season.

DIRECTV rolling out curated multiview for football season. The feature will allow DIRECTV subscribers to watch multiple premier sporting events at once. - August 17, 2026 Known for breaking major streaming stories, he's covered everything from Netflix policy shifts to Peacock's ad-tier changes. A sci-fi fan and Toshiba Fire TV user, he brings sharp analysis and a love for the genre to his reporting. The 2026 NFL preseason is already underway, which means that soon, gridiron games that actually count will begin at both the college and professional levels. To help fans watch as much of the action as possible, DIRECTV is launching a new curated Multiview that will offer up to four games at once on a single screen. Key details: * New and improved: DIRECTV's Multiview will assemble up to four games from live channels included in your package. * Not interchangeable: At launch, viewers will not be able to swap games in and out of the multiview. * Few limitations: The Multiview is available with all plans that include sports channels. 'Superman's' Sara Sampaio Sheds Light On Why Eve Is Obsessed With Him DIRECTV's new Multiview brings together football games and other live sports events in a single view. Audiences will find Multiviews on the Sports Central carousel, and if an individual game is available within a Multiview, DIRECTV will show a prompt inside the video player to link to the split view. The new Multiview feature will not allow viewers to customize their mix by swapping games in and out, though such technology could come to DIRECTV in the future. Multiview is somewhat different from DIRECTV's Mix Channels, which first launched last year. Mix Channels are a permanent fixture on DIRECTV, offering a selection of pre-selected news, sports, and weather channel combinations that are always on. DIRECTV's Multiview mixes are only available as long as the sports games within are live; after that, they're gone. The good news is that there are few plan restrictions to watch the curated Multiviews with DIRECTV; as long as your channel package includes sports networks, you'll be able to enjoy Multiviews with your subscription at no extra cost. Multiviews will not include any events from channels not found in your DIRECTV plan. The Multiview experience on DIRECTV will be available to eligible customers by Aug. 27, so if you don't see it in the service's interface yet, keep checking back. Use it to watch multiple sports at the same time from your DIRECTV package, with no need to go hunting around for a separate channel.

Philo, Charter partnerships drive interest in AMC Plus, execs say.

Philo, Charter partnerships drive interest in AMC Plus, execs say. AMC Global Media has seen stronger interest, activations and engagements across AMC Plus and other streaming platforms thanks to its bundling arrangements with cable providers. [email protected] July 30, 2026 Partnerships with pay television services are driving strong interest and engagement in the streaming platform AMC Plus, executives with AMC Global Media confirmed this week. Specifically, arrangements with Charter's Spectrum TV and streaming service Philo allow subscribers of their premium linear TV products to access the ad-supported version of AMC Plus at no extra cost if their packages contain one or more AMC-owned cable channels. AMC's pacts with Philo and Spectrum TV have resulted in 2.3 million AMC Plus activations since the deals were brokered, AMC Global Media CEO Kristin Dolan told investors on Thursday. That figure also includes viewers who have activated a subscription to ALLBLK, an AMC streaming service that offers Black-focused TV shows and movies. Other content distributors are following suit: AMC recently renewed its agreement with DIRECTV that allows the pay TV company to bundle complementary access to AMC Plus with its genre-based streaming TV package called MyEntertainment, and other providers like Comcast and YouTube TV could do the same in the near future, Dolan said. Specific to YouTube TV, Dolan noted AMC Global Media recently renewed its distribution agreement with the Google-owned cable TV alternative, keeping its channels in front of more than 10 million subscribers. The new deal also allows YouTube TV to eventually bring AMC's cable networks and free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels to its lower-priced, genre-based packages for the first time since those plans were introduced in January. "We take a long-range view of this business and the critical role our distribution partners play across all of our platforms, streaming, linear, and FAST," Dolan said. "As streaming and linear continue to converge, an increasing number of viewers experience our services through hard-bundled arrangements. This combined distribution delivers additional value to the customer, strengthens our affiliate relationships, and builds revenue partnerships focused on the future." While AMC Global Media is holding onto its cable networks for now, Dolan made clear the company is betting its long-term future on streaming. AMC Plus and associated FAST channels have captured an outsized amount of attention in the company's recent earnings reports and associated conference calls, in large part because streaming-related revenue has overtaken the affiliate fees that AMC Global Media earns from cable, satellite and streaming pay TV providers. During its most-recent financial quarter, AMC Global Media earned $180 million in streaming-related revenue, up 6 percent compared to the prior year. Streaming-related revenue is largely focused on subscription sales to AMC Plus, ALLBLK and other services; it also includes the wholesale cost that services like Philo, Charter and DIRECTV are paying to offer bundled access to AMC Plus across their pay TV plans. (AMC Global Media is one of several media companies that has an ownership stake in Philo.) By comparison, affiliate fees earned from the distribution of AMC's networks on cable, satellite and other platforms fell 17 percent to $126 million during the quarter, the byproduct of ongoing churn affecting domestic traditional pay TV providers. Advertising revenue - which is associated with AMC Plus, AMC FAST channels, other streaming platforms and AMC's cable networks - clocked in at nearly $109 million, down 11 percent.
