Overview

Democracy Prep Public Schools runs a network of charter schools focused on high-quality civic education and community involvement for students from elementary through high school. It uses public funding, grants, and donations to operate schools that weave civic learning into daily lessons and require participation in community service, aiming to strengthen students’ academic skills while building their role as active, informed citizens. Unlike typical schools, Democracy Prep emphasizes combining rigorous academics with practical democratic engagement and service, serving underserved communities to help graduates become college-ready and ready to contribute to their communities. Its goal is to produce graduates who excel academically and are prepared to participate responsibly in a democratic society.
