Jermantown Vehicle Service Center EV infrastructure project earns Fairfax County Award of Excellence. Dewberry recognized for sustainable and energy-efficient design. 06.19.2026 Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that it has received a 2025-2026 Award of Excellence from the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services Building Design and Construction Division. The award recognizes the firm for its sustainable and energy-efficient design for the Jermantown Vehicle Service Center electric vehicle (EV) charging station project in Fairfax, Virginia. Dewberry's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) practice led electrical engineering and construction administration services for EV service equipment (EVSE) design and installation. The new EV charging infrastructure supports up to 14 fleet vehicles and two public vehicles through Level 2 chargers. Installation of the charging stations aligns with the county's Community-Wide Energy and Climate Action Plan (CECAP), which aims for carbon neutrality across Fairfax County government operations by 2040 and community-wide carbon neutrality by 2050. Dewberry is now leading additional projects to support the county's transition to energy-efficient vehicle fleet operations. Dewberry welcomes Cathleen Bryant to northeast environmental practice. Bryant to lead firm's Industrial Site Recovery Act group. 05.20.2026 Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Cathleen Bryant, LSRP, has joined its northeast environmental practice as senior project manager. In this role, Bryant will manage site contamination projects and lead Dewberry's Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA) New Jersey group. She is based out of the firm's Parsippany, New Jersey, office. Bryant brings 30 years of environmental consulting experience supporting industrial, commercial, and government clients in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Her project management experience encompasses all phases of investigation, remediation, and regulatory closure, with specialized expertise in New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection requirements, including ISRA compliance. Bryant has led investigations involving solvents, petroleum products, metals, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and has prepared complex regulatory submissions. "Cathy's extensive experience in site investigation and remediation significantly strengthens the environmental solutions we're delivering to our clients," says Dewberry Senior Vice President Ileana S. Dewberry welcomes Michael Gabaldon to water practice in the west. Gabaldon to serve as vice president and regional water market segment leader. 05.19.2026 Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Michael Gabaldon, PE, has joined the firm as vice president and regional water market segment leader, supporting business development, growth, and clients in the western region. He is based in Dewberry's Sacramento, California, office. Gabaldon has more than 40 years of experience in water resources development and management in a variety of technical, operational, managerial, and senior executive positions with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and other consulting firms. His background includes water and natural resources management, program development, program management, budget formulation, environmental compliance, and construction management. Gabaldon brings knowledge of the Colorado River and Rio Grande operations, with extensive experience navigating interstate water compacts, hydropower, dam safety, advanced water treatment, water reuse, and project operations issues. "Michael's extensive knowledge of water resources will be instrumental as we support existing and new clients across the west," says Dewberry Senior Vice President and West Operating Unit Manager Dennis Haglan, PE. Dewberry's Jerry Mrykalo promoted to Mid-Atlantic transportation business Unit Manager. Mrykalo to lead 110-person practice across Virginia and Maryland. 05.18.2026 Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Jerry Mrykalo, PE, PTOE, DBIA, will lead the firm's mid-Atlantic transportation business unit. Based in the Fairfax, Virginia, office, Mrykalo will lead the 110-person team, overseeing roadway, structural, hydraulic, and traffic engineering design and environmental permitting for many of the firm's regional clients, including the Virginia Department of Transportation, Maryland Transportation Authority, and Maryland State Highway Administration. Mrykalo has been with Dewberry for 20 years and previously served as department manager for its mid-Atlantic traffic engineering practice. He served as lead traffic engineer for major design-build and design-bid-build transportation projects across the region, including the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project Phase 2, Intercounty Connector (ICC), and projects throughout the I-64, I-66, and I-81 corridors in Virginia.
