Digital Technology Institute for Development

Non-profit think tank advancing climate blockchain

Overview

BCI is a non-profit think-and-do tank that connects policymakers, business leaders, and technology innovators to promote blockchain and other digital technologies for climate action. It delivers advisory services and capacity-building through four work streams—Capacity Building, Technology Information, Enabling Environments, and Mechanisms for Technology Transfers—and councils to turn research into policy and practice. It positions itself as a “super-connector” that combines a think tank, advocacy group, and chamber of commerce, funded by donations and partnerships, with a focus on helping developing countries deploy technology. Its goal is to support the Paris Agreement by mainstreaming feasible climate technologies and fostering a decentralized climate economy.
