DiligenceSquared

AI-powered due diligence for investments

Overview

DiligenceSquared provides an AI-native platform that automates commercial due diligence and market research for investment teams, including private equity firms, hedge funds, and corporate clients. It uses a network of AI voice agents to conduct hundreds of expert interviews in multiple languages for a given deal and automatically synthesizes the data into structured findings with fully auditable reports linked to original transcripts. Human project leads with top consulting backgrounds review the process to ensure high-quality outputs, pairing automated insights with professional oversight. The goal is to reduce time and cost of due diligence compared with traditional high-cost consulting while expanding adoption among asset managers and corporate development teams.

DiligenceSquared raises $5M to slash M&A research costs with AI voice agents

DiligenceSquared, a Y Combinator-backed startup, has raised $5 million in seed funding led by Relentless to make merger and acquisition research more affordable using AI. The company aims to provide consultancy-quality commercial diligence at a fraction of traditional costs. Founded by Frederik Hansen (formerly Blackstone) and Søren Biltoft (ex-BCG), DiligenceSquared uses AI voice agents to interview customers of potential acquisition targets. The startup claims it can deliver analysis for $50,000, compared to the $500,000 to $1 million charged by firms like McKinsey or Bain for similar work. Senior human consultants verify the accuracy of AI-generated insights. Since launching in October, the company has completed projects for several major private equity firms. Its main competitor, Bridgetown Research, raised $19 million in February.
