Ramsay Health Care UK partners with Doctor Care Anywhere to deliver seamless virtual GP and secondary care pathways for patients. July 19, 2026 London, UK (20.07.2026) - Ramsay Health Care UK, one of the UK's leading independent hospital groups, today announces a new partnership with Doctor Care Anywhere, one of the UK's leading virtual primary care providers. The collaboration will give Ramsay patients fast, convenient access to self-pay online GP appointments, with seamless onward referrals into Ramsay's network of hospitals and specialists where secondary care is required - creating a joined-up, end-to-end care journey. The partnership brings together two leaders in their respective fields: Doctor Care Anywhere's clinical expertise in virtual primary care with Ramsay Health Care UK's breadth of secondary care services, ensuring patients receive the right care, in the right setting, at the right time. Through this partnership, Ramsay Health Care UK patients will benefit from: Self-pay virtual GP appointments: Fast, convenient access to UK-registered GPs via video and phone consultations, available 24/7, giving patients timely medical advice from wherever they are. Seamless secondary care referrals: Where a GP consultation identifies the need for specialist treatment, patients will be offered a direct referral into Ramsay Health Care UK's network of hospitals and consultants. Should the patient consent; the referral is made seamlessly and efficiently, removing friction from the care journey and reducing delays to diagnosis and treatment. Continuity of care: Where a referral is made, a full clinical summary will flow seamlessly between Doctor Care Anywhere's virtual GPs and Ramsay's secondary care teams, supporting well-informed clinical decision-making at every stage. With patient consent, this clinical record can also be shared with the patient's NHS GP, ensuring their broader care team remains fully informed. Transforming the patient journey Patient expectations around access to healthcare are changing rapidly, with demand growing for digital-first, self-pay routes to both primary and specialist care. Long waits and fragmented pathways remain a significant challenge, with patients frequently navigating disconnected services between GP and hospital care. This partnership addresses that gap directly, combining the speed and convenience of self-pay virtual GP consultations with direct access to high-quality secondary care services. Together, Doctor Care Anywhere and Ramsay Health Care UK aim to set a new standard for integrated virtual and in-person care - reducing delays, improving patient experience, and enabling earlier intervention and treatment. "Ramsay Health Care UK are delighted to be partnering with Doctor Care Anywhere, building on our digital investments, to deliver a truly joined-up care pathway for our patients. Doctor Care Anywhere will serve as a primary care entry point; providing our patients with fast, accessible virtual GP consultations - with seamless referrals into Ramsay's hospitals and specialists where secondary care is needed. Working with proven, deep clinical expertise and the scale and commercial capability to grow with us. During the process we were continually impressed with DCA's ability to provide care when it mattered most, alongside being genuinely engaging to work with." Nick Costa, Chief Executive Officer, Ramsay Health Care UK "This partnership with Ramsay Health Care UK reflects our shared commitment to putting patients first. By combining Doctor Care Anywhere's virtual GP capability with Ramsay's outstanding secondary care network, we're creating a pathway that is faster, more connected and more convenient for patients. Our GPs will be able to refer patients directly into Ramsay's specialist services, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks and that every patient gets the care they need, when they need it." Why Doctor Care Anywhere Group moved into weight management. July 6, 2026 The thinking behind its Medicspot acquisition - and why it's different. Something unusual has happened in UK healthcare over the last three years. GLP-1 weight-loss treatment, barely used by consumers in 2022, is now one of the fastest-growing areas of private healthcare in the country. Around 3 million UK adults use these medications, the vast majority paying privately, since the NHS reaches only a narrow eligibility group (PwC, 2026). PwC expects that number to more than double as pill versions arrive. You'll recognise this pattern wherever you're reading from. In Australia, more than 400,000 people already pay privately for these drugs (there's still no PBS subsidy for the obesity indication), and Eucalyptus, the group behind Pilot and Juniper, just sold to Hims & Hers for US$1.15 billion, near 4.6 times revenue, with its UK business now bigger than its Australian one. The market has put a very large number on this category. That's worth keeping in mind against what Doctor Care Anywhere Group paid. The deal. In May Doctor Care Anywhere Group acquired Medicspot, a direct-to-consumer GLP-1 weight-loss service founded in 2016: - £850,000 in cash, paid on completion - no earn-out, no deferred consideration. - £5.3 million revenue in the twelve months to March 2026, broadly breakeven on EBITDA. - Roughly 0.16 times sales - a fraction of the ~4.6 times revenue Eucalyptus sold for. - Funded entirely from existing cash. Medicspot and Eucalyptus aren't directly comparable, but the gap illustrates the kind of asymmetry Doctor Care Anywhere Group look for: a validated, fast-growing category, bought before Medicspot has contributed a full year of revenue or any cross-sell benefit. Medicspot is different by design. Many providers in this category sell the medication and stop. Medicspot built a full clinical pathway around it: - A dedicated, named health coach for every member, with weekly check-ins. - NHS Summary Care Record review before every prescription, via a GPhC- and CQC-regulated pharmacy partner. - 12 months of structured aftercare, not a one-off sale. - A WhatsApp peer community and behaviour-change toolkit. It works: members who engage with coaching lose 17% more weight in their first three months, and it addresses the biggest risk in this category. Published data shows most people regain two-thirds of lost weight within a year without proper aftercare (Wilding et al., 2022; Aronne et al., 2024). It also means Doctor Care Anywhere Group didn't buy a customer-acquisition problem: DCA already has 1.2 million patients and insurer & employer relationships that most standalone GLP-1 providers spend heavily to build. What's next. DCA already has the corporate and insurer relationships; Medicspot gives Doctor Care Anywhere Group a weight-management service they increasingly want, and Doctor Care Anywhere Group can take it straight to them. Whether you first followed this category through UK headlines or Eucalyptus' numbers in Australia, it's the same opportunity, built here on more disciplined terms, with a clinical model Doctor Care Anywhere Group think holds up better, through distribution Doctor Care Anywhere Group already own. The market is still early.
