August 12, 2026 Despite a drop in the number of Virginia firms on Inc.'s 2026 list, companies like Sparkplug IP and newcomer Donorbox highlight ongoing resilience and diversity in Alexandria's business community, with notable revenue growth over three years. Alexandria, Va., kept a steady presence on Inc.'s latest list of America's fastest-growing private companies, although this year's local showings were much lower in the rankings than in 2025. According to Inc.'s annual Inc. 5000 ranking, 12 companies with Alexandria addresses or operations in nearby Fairfax County made the 2026 list, including seven based in the city. That was down from 19 local firms a year earlier, when veteran-owned consulting firm Artemis ARC led Alexandria with a national ranking of No. 34 and 6,648% three-year revenue growth. Artemis ARC did not return to the new list. The highest-ranked Alexandria company this year was Sparkplug IP, a telecommunications firm that posted 449% growth over three years.
