Cindy is a senior environment, health, safety, and security (EHSS) leader with over 25 years of experience across chemical manufacturing, food and beverage, hospitality, and highly regulated industrial operations. She has led EHSS strategy at the site, regional, and global level, building programs that integrate safety performance, environmental compliance, process safety, and security risk management. Cindy has a strong track record of developing and scaling environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) systems across multi-site and multi-jurisdictional organizations, including leading global and regional teams, driving measurable reductions in incident rates and workers' compensation costs, and strengthening compliance across complex regulatory frameworks. She has led enterprise risk reduction strategies, implemented process safety governance, and designed emergency response systems and security programs aligned with critical infrastructure requirements. EHS Support expands Canadian Sediment and Risk Assessment capabilities. EHS Support is excited to welcome Elena Legrand, PhD, as a Senior Scientist based in Ottawa. This addition enhances its Sediment and Risk Assessment (SRA) capabilities and strengthens its growing Canadian team. Elena specializes in aquatic and marine ecotoxicology, with 10 years of experience integrating environmental chemistry, laboratory experimentation, and field-based studies to evaluate the effects of chemical contaminants in complex ecological systems. Her work focuses on analyzing biological responses and exposure pathways using data-driven and multidisciplinary approaches to support environmental assessments and interpretation. Elena has contributed to mining effluents toxicity assessments, sediment toxicity assessments, Canadian environmental effects monitoring programs, and human health and ecological risk assessments for contaminated sites across Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta. At EHS Support, Elena supports a variety of clients, including those in the specialty chemicals, metals, and mining industries. She has experience supporting applied research and technical projects, including study design, data analysis, and interpreting complex biological and environmental datasets. Elena has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations in both national and international settings and is an accomplished science communicator in both English and French. She also supports mentorship and knowledge transfer, helping to translate technical findings into clear, actionable scientific insights for diverse audiences. EHS Support hires new Principal Scientist. EHS Support is pleased to welcome Jeff Johnson as a Principal Scientist specializing in Contaminated Site Assessment, Risk Assessment, and Applied Toxicology. Jeff is a senior aquatic toxicologist and ecological risk assessment specialist with more than 25 years of experience leading complex investigations at contaminated sediment sites. He provides strategic technical direction for projects under CERCLA, RCRA, and state voluntary remediation programs, developing defensible investigation and risk assessment approaches that integrate sediment, surface water, and groundwater-to-surface water interaction pathways using weight-of-evidence methodologies. His expertise includes contaminated sediment assessment and monitoring, Natural Resource Damage Assessments, in-situ toxicological and biological studies, ecological community assessments, and comprehensive sediment and water quality evaluations. Jeff also supports environmental compliance initiatives, including NPDES permitting and selenium fish tissue assessments. Jeff's extensive experience, collaborative approach to project management, and proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor staff make him a valuable addition to EHS Support.
