eXp Realty

Cloud-based real estate brokerage with agents

Overview

eXp Realty operates as a cloud-based real estate brokerage with a global reach. It helps people buy, sell, and rent homes by connecting clients with experienced real estate agents through an online, virtual platform rather than physical offices. The service works by using online tools and a virtual environment to manage listings, show properties, process transactions, and communicate, while agents can work from anywhere and may become shareholders in the company, aligning their success with the firm’s growth. Revenue comes from commissions on real estate transactions and through additional tools and services offered to agents. The company differentiates itself by running entirely in the cloud with low overhead, a scalable platform, and a model that lets agents own a stake in the business. Its goal is to streamline the home buying and selling process globally through technology and to empower agents to grow their careers while sharing in the company’s growth.

Evan Downey, Real Estate Broker in Dallas, TX, named a D Magazine Top producer for 2026.

Evan Downey, Real Estate Broker in Dallas, TX, named a D Magazine Top producer for 2026. Sep 23, 2026 Evan Downey Real Estate Group highlights a client focused approach to residential real estate through its Bulletproof Real Estate Agent brand. DALLAS, September 23, 2026 - Evan Downey is a Broker Associate with eXp Realty and founder of Evan Downey Real Estate Group in Dallas, Texas. Named to D Magazine's Best Real Estate Agents and Top Producers 2026, he brings 20+ years of sales experience, 110+ five-star Google reviews, and specialized expertise in luxury, investment, and residential real estate across Dallas-Fort Worth. Evan Downey, Broker Associate with eXp Realty and founder of Evan Downey Real Estate Group, has been named to D Magazine's Best Real Estate Agents and Top Producers 2026. The recognition was celebrated at a private, invitation-only event held August 27, 2026 at Astoria Event Venue in Irving, marking the launch of D Magazine's September 2026 issue featuring the year's honorees. D Magazine's Top Producers list is among the most closely watched agent rankings in North Texas, a market with tens of thousands of licensed agents and no shortage of competition for the distinction. Raised Around 1031 Exchanges Downey's real estate education started at the dinner table. His father spent more than 30 years helping clients execute 1031 exchanges on single-family and commercial property in the TIC (Tenants in Common) industry, a corner of the business most residential agents never touch. It is investor work: deferred capital gains, replacement property identification windows, fractional ownership structures, and the arithmetic that determines whether a swap actually improves a client's position. Growing up inside gave Downey something unusual for a residential agent, the instinct to evaluate a property as an asset before evaluating it as a home. He eventually chose single-family sales as his own lane, but the investor lens stayed. It is why his client base spans luxury buyers and sellers, active investors, and conventional homebuyers rather than concentrating on one. He Runs the Numbers Because He Runs Them on His Own Deals Downey is a short-term and long-term rental investor himself, which changes the quality of investor advice in a specific way. An agent who has never owned a rental can quote a CAP rate. An agent who owns them has paid the vacancy, funded the turn, argued with a property manager, and watched a pro forma meet reality. When Downey walks an investor through a fix-and-flip or a turn-key rental, he is describing decisions he has personally made and lived with. That extends to the analysis clients actually need: CAP rates, ROI, renovation cost against achievable rent, which DFW sub-markets are producing yield, and price per square foot by neighborhood. His stated specialty is knowing the best sub-markets, the best school districts, and the price per square foot for each area, three questions he says clients ask more than any others. His residential real estate work includes established Dallas communities such as Lakewood, Forest Hills, M Streets, Lower Greenville, Lochwood, and Old Lake Highlands, giving buyers, sellers, and investors access to community-specific information as they evaluate different areas of the Dallas market. Twenty Years of Negotiation, One Standard With 20+ years of sales experience, Downey defines success by a single test: whether the client leaves the closing table without the nagging "maybe we could have gotten a better price." That is a harder standard than it sounds, because it is about the client's confidence in the outcome rather than the outcome alone. Meeting it requires the client to understand what was negotiated and why the result was the right one, which is a communication problem as much as a negotiation problem. He is direct that buying or selling is not purely financial. It is emotional, and treating it otherwise is how agents lose people mid-transaction. Recognition and Reviews Alongside the 2026 D Magazine honor, Downey has been recognized in the MetroTex 40 Under 40 awards, named Best Realtor in Dallas of 2025 by the Evergreen Awards, and named an eXp ICON Agent, ranking in the top 5% globally. His work has been featured by Realtor.com, which cited him as a Dallas real estate expert on North Texas housing growth, and referenced in Yahoo Finance, MarketWatch, Digital Journal, and AP News. Client feedback is where the volume is: 110+ five-star Google reviews and 90+ reviews on Zillow. Family, Chickens, and an Open Fridge Away from the business, Downey is a father of three and a homesteader, vegetable gardening, fruit trees, and 11 chickens, a detail his clients tend to remember. He is an active church member with a particular presence among SMU students, known for an open-home and open-fridge policy for anyone who needs a place to land. It is a consistent picture. The same person who runs CAP rates for investors keeps a full fridge for college students. Working With Evan Downey Buyers, sellers, and investors can search Dallas-area listings, learn more about Evan, or get in touch directly at 214-997-4929. Evan Reynolds, Real Estate Agent in Palatine, IL, and Home Team Advantage named to Chicago Agent Magazine's 2026 Who's Who.

Evan Reynolds, Real Estate Agent in Palatine, IL, and Home Team Advantage named to Chicago Agent Magazine's 2026 Who's Who. September 21, 2026 at 22:51 PM EDT i This article is third-party content and does not represent the views of this site. Tamar Securities, LLC make no guarantees regarding its accuracy or completeness. Home Team Advantage at eXp Realty, led by Evan Reynolds, was named to Chicago Agent Magazine's 2026 Who's Who in Chicagoland Real Estate, recognizing the Palatine-based team's 100+ annual transactions, 489 recorded sales, and strong presence across Chicago's Northwest Suburbs. Palatine, Illinois, September 22, 2026 - Home Team Advantage at eXp Realty, led by Evan Reynolds, has been named to Chicago Agent Magazine's 2026 Who's Who in Chicagoland Real Estate. The feature profiles Reynolds alongside Ewelina Suchecki, Nicole Verlotta, Stefan Magazin, Almas Malik, and Abigail Reynolds - and the emphasis is telling. The magazine did not spotlight one producer with a support staff. It spotlighted a group of specialists. That distinction is the point of the recognition, and it is what Reynolds has spent nine years building toward. Six People, Six Different Things Most real estate teams are assembled from similar agents doing similar work at different volumes. Home Team Advantage is assembled from people who are good at different things. Ewelina Suchecki came from mortgage lending. When a buyer hits a financing wall - a debt-to-income problem, a condo that will not clear underwriting, a credit issue surfacing at the worst moment - the team has someone who worked that side of the desk professionally. Ewelina and her family reside in Elk Grove Village. Nicole Verlotta is a Palatine native whose relationships run through residents and downtown business owners. That is the kind of local knowledge that cannot be researched, only accumulated. Stefan Magazin is a former University of Illinois Chicago soccer goalkeeper who earned Top 10 Rookie of the Year in both volume and units in 2025 from the North Shore-Barrington Association of REALTORS(R). Almas Malik anchors the team's presence in Schaumburg, a distinct market with its own inventory and buyer preferences. Kara Dziewior and Logan Laude expand client coverage as the roster grows. Logan was born and raised in Mount Prospect and now resides in Des Plaines. Abigail Reynolds - Evan's wife and business partner - runs transaction coordination, the operational structure that lets everyone else stay with clients instead of chasing paperwork. "Radically Available" Reynolds's own differentiator is availability, and he treats it as a design constraint rather than a personality trait. He tries to operate roughly 48 hours ahead, deliberately refusing to book his calendar out weeks in advance. A listing appears unexpectedly. A seller gets an offer that needs analysis today. An inspection turns up something. A buyer gets one shot at a competitive property. A fully booked calendar cannot absorb any of those. A deliberately underbooked one can. The current Zillow profile reflects what that produces: 121 five-star team reviews, 116 sales in the past 12 months, and 489 total recorded team sales as of early September 2026. And it is not tiered by price point. A first condo gets the same response time as a repeat client's fourth move. Discipline From Athletics Reynolds competed as a college athlete, and the habit that transferred was repetition. Consistent performance rarely comes from one extraordinary effort. It comes from preparation, recovery, and showing up again - which in real estate means the follow-up happens, calls get returned, market data gets reviewed, the listing gets prepared, and the offer gets evaluated carefully. And when something breaks, it has to be fixed. Reynolds says that part is why he still enjoys the work. The unpredictability is not something he tolerates; it is part of what makes the job interesting. Palatine Became Home First Reynolds is not a lifelong Palatine resident, and the actual sequence matters more than the claim would. He and his family settled in Palatine roughly eight years ago. The community became their home, and then it became the center of the business. In 2023 he made that permanent by opening a Home Team Advantage eXp Realty branch office in Palatine. Choosing a town and then building a business inside it is a different kind of commitment from inheriting one. It also explains the depth of the local investment - community relationships, business connections, neighborhood knowledge, and search visibility built deliberately rather than assumed. Home Team Advantage primarily serves Palatine, Arlington Heights, Rolling Meadows, Mount Prospect, Prospect Heights, and Schaumburg, with active work throughout Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, and the surrounding Northwest Suburbs. Buyers can search by property type across townhomes, condos, homes with pools, new construction, homes with acreage, and luxury homes. When the Team Became Personal The philosophy was tested in 2025, when Reynolds's young son required surgery. For a parent running a high-volume real estate organization, that collapses professional and personal priorities into each other in a way no production chart captures. Reynolds credits his team with keeping the business moving while his family needed him - a point Chicago Agent Magazine highlighted directly. It also clarified what the company name is supposed to mean. A real team functions when one member needs support. It does not depend on one person being reachable every hour of every day. The systems, relationships, and shared standards Reynolds spent years building mattered most in the stretch when he could not be the one applying them. He and Abigail are now raising their son and preparing to welcome their daughter this November. Production Behind the Recognition Home Team Advantage completes 100+ annual transactions with more than $30 million in annual production volume. The team has recorded 489 total Zillow sales and 120 five-star reviews. Evan Reynolds earned eXp ICON Agent recognition from 2024 through 2026 and NSBAR Top 1% recognition for volume and transactions. The Palatine office opened in 2023. Chicago Agent Magazine reported $22M+ closed and pending as of June 2026; the Zillow figures above are more current and indicate continued growth past that snapshot. Working With Home Team Advantage Sellers can request a free home valuation or review the Market Your Home approach. Buyers can run an advanced search, try the AI smart search, explore the map search, browse newest and featured listings oropen houses, review market reports, or estimate payments with the mortgage calculator. About Evan Reynolds and Home Team Advantage Evan Reynolds is Team Lead of Home Team Advantage at eXp Realty, a Palatine-based real estate team serving buyers, sellers, investors, first-time purchasers, relocating families, and homeowners throughout Chicago's Northwest Suburbs. Reynolds entered real estate in 2016 and has developed Home Team Advantage into an organization completing more than 100 transactions annually. He has earned eXp ICON recognition and top 1% production recognition through the North Shore-Barrington Association of REALTORS(R), and has served on the association's Young Professionals Network Executive Board. He opened the team's Palatine branch office in 2023. In 2026, Home Team Advantage was selected for Chicago Agent Magazine's Who's Who in Chicagoland Real Estate, recognizing the team's production, specialized expertise, and continued growth throughout Palatine and surrounding communities. Evan Reynolds is Team Lead of Home Team Advantage at eXp Realty (License #475173173), located at 220 N Smith St, Suite 110, Palatine, IL 60067. Turning recovery into purpose: Scott Brown's journey of giving back.

Turning recovery into purpose: Scott Brown's journey of giving back. September 18, 2026 Seattle King County REALTORS(R) is proud to recognize Scott Brown of eXp Realty as the 3rd Quarter recipient of the Good Neighbor Award for his outstanding community service through Recovery Beyond, a nonprofit organization that supports individuals in recovery from substance abuse through fitness, connection, outdoor adventure, and shared experience. Since joining Recovery Beyond in 2017, Scott has volunteered hundreds of hours each year mentoring individuals in recovery through hiking, fitness, and beginner mountaineering programs designed to build confidence, resilience, accountability, and connection. What began as simply assisting with hiking programs evolved into nearly a decade of leadership and service. Scott has served on the organization's Board of Directors, led its Peer Advisory Council as president, helped develop fitness programming, supported community outreach and social media efforts, and created branded merchandise to promote Recovery Beyond's mission. Scott's commitment to this work is deeply personal. He spent two decades in the throes of addiction before enrolling in a recovery program with the Salvational Army in 2012. "Getting clean" gave him a purpose and a mission: "to help others who are still suffering find hope and a path forward." He knows firsthand how lonely and uncertain recovery can be, especially in the early days. By introducing those in recovery to physical challenges and outdoor experiences, Scott helps them realize they are capable of far more than they believed possible. Over the years, Scott's volunteer work has impacted hundreds of people. Through outdoor challenges and mentorship, he helps participants discover strengths they never knew they had. Whether completing a difficult hike, reaching a mountain summit, or simply showing up consistently for a supportive community, participants gain confidence and a renewed sense of purpose that extends far beyond the trail. "Watching someone who once felt hopeless stand on a mountain summit is a powerful reminder that recovery is not only possible, it can lead to strength, purpose, and a new life," Scott shared. In the past year alone, Scott has contributed more than 700 volunteer hours and donated equipment, supplies, transportation, and other resources to support Recovery Beyond's programming. His dedication has helped strengthen both the organization and the recovery community it serves. Scott's impact has also been recognized nationally and throughout Washington's recovery community. In 2025, he received the Inside Real Estate Helping Hand Award, an honor presented to just three real estate professionals nationwide for their community service. He was also recognized by the Washington Recovery Alliance for his contributions to the recovery movement. Through his service, leadership, and unwavering compassion, Scott demonstrates what it means to be a Good Neighbor. His work helps individuals move from isolation to connection, from hardship to hope, and from addiction to a life of purpose. Congratulations, Scott, and thank you for making a lasting difference in its community.

Realtor.com assembles all-star crew to fix US housing crisis.

Realtor.com assembles all-star crew to fix US housing crisis. Realtor.com is partnering with Zillow and eXp to launch a consumer education website Today, September 15, 2026 A little more than a year after debuting Let America Build at South by Southwest, Realtor.com has launched its first major public awareness campaign around the initiative. Realtor.com and 13 real estate, homebuilding and housing advocacy groups - including Zillow, the National Association of Home Builders, Habitat for Humanity, Veterans United and eXp Realty - have unveiled LetAmericaBuild.org, a website that educates consumers about zoning and permitting, housing policies, housing types and construction trends. Realtor.com said the recent passage of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act has put housing in the spotlight, and that now is the time to draw the throughline between federal policy, state and local action, and housing affordability. "If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together, and with a problem as big as America's home shortage, it is time we go together," Realtor.com CEO Damian Eales said in a public statement on Tuesday. "Earlier this year, I challenged the industry to come together and unify. Let America Build is a result of that call." "Now, after the 21st Century ROAD to Housing bill has become law, elected officials have the opportunity to make housing supply a visible community priority," he added. "This campaign aims to help Americans engage in real conversations about how their communities can create more housing opportunities." Eales began zeroing in on housing affordability last year, with the leader sidestepping the battle over the National Association of Realtors Clear Cooperation Policy - Realtor.com defended CCP but declined to ban non-compliant listings like Zillow and Redfin - in favor of focusing on Let America Build. "If this industry can get behind one issue, it's housing supply," Eales said at Inman Connect San Diego 2025. "Let's turn off this conversation about Clear Cooperation. It can be refined. But [housing inventory] is a bipartisan issue where even my staunchest competitors in the industry would agree that we should have more homes built in this country. And I think that genuinely, we can make a difference in our local communities if we start talking more about it." Although estimates run as high as 10 million, Realtor.com said its data puts the housing supply gap at 4.03 million homes. The shortage, the portal said, has been exacerbated by outdated zoning and permitting laws, with the National Association of Home Builders estimating that government regulation, taxes, fees and other miscellaneous related costs boost the cost of the an average new single-family home by 26 percent. "Let America Build brings industry stakeholders together with officials at every level of government to address the nation's housing affordability crisis by removing inefficient zoning rules, unnecessary regulations, permitting delays and other barriers that keep builders from delivering more affordable, attainable homes," NAHB CEO Jim Tobin said in the announcement. "The campaign builds on the momentum of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act and advances practical solutions to help builders expand the nation's housing supply." The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which passed in July, modernizes affordability programs like the Community Development Block Grant and the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, expands environmental review exclusions and includes a $200 million annual grant program to reward cities that streamline permitting. The Act also puts guardrails on institutional buyers, forcing them to sell their stock after a set time period. Housing experts say it will likely take years for homebuyers to reap the benefits of the Act; however, Let America Build's partners say it provides the perfect foundation for the housing industry at large to take action. "America's housing shortage is pricing renters and buyers out of the communities they love," Zillow CEO Jeremy Wacksman said. "We know what's driving it and we know what will fix it: streamlining permitting, modernizing zoning and unlocking land that's already there..." Added eXp Realty and NextHome CEO Leo Pareja, "We didn't build eXp and NextHome around a one-size-fits-all model, because we know entrepreneurs and consumers alike do better when they have choice. America's housing shortage demands that same thinking at the local level: more options, fewer barriers, faster paths from plan to reality. That's why we're proud to join Let America Build." T3 Sixty, ICON, Land Use Labs, Home Services of America, RISMedia, the Asian Real Estate Association of America, LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals are also founding participants, with LGBTQ+ Alliance Executive Director Alex Cruz saying it's important to "open the door to homeownership for more people and more families in every community." Realtor.com isn't the only company to roll out a housing initiative. JPMorgan Chase put $750 billion toward its American Dream Initiative in August, and on Monday, Airbnb announced a $250 million Housing Accelerator Fund that's projected to generate $5 billion in capital by 2036.

California Mega Team Tafoya Real Estate joins eXp Realty.

California Mega Team Tafoya Real Estate joins eXp Realty. September 02, 2026 12:00 ET | Source: eXp Realty The Fresno-based team departs Real Brokerage after $87.92 million in two-year sales, saying eXp gives it room to build toward its next 500 agents. BELLINGHAM, Wash., Sept. 02, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - eXp Realty(R), the most agent-centric(TM) real estate brokerage on the planet and the core subsidiary of AGNT, Inc. (Nasdaq: AGNT), today announced that Scott Tafoya and Tafoya Real Estate have left Real Brokerage to join eXp, bringing approximately 37 agents and the group's leadership, operations, and support infrastructure. Based in Fresno, California, Tafoya Real Estate serves the Central Valley and markets throughout the state, with a strong presence in Fresno, Clovis, Madera, and Visalia. The team produced $87.92 million across 172 transaction sides in 2024 and 2025. Its 2025 results also earned the group recognition as a California Mega Team in the 2026 RealTrends rankings. "Scott didn't just build a team, he built an ecosystem of financing, coaching, commercial, multifamily, agent development, all under one roof in the Central Valley," said Leo Pareja, CEO of eXp Realty. "That's rare. He's thinking about the next 500 agents, not the next 50. eXp is built for operators who think that way." Tafoya entered real estate in 2005 after studying and working in finance. The former Division I baseball player founded Tafoya Real Estate in 2018 and grew the organization from a small team into an operation of 37 agents. The group has also expanded far beyond traditional residential sales. Its business now includes luxury homes, agricultural land, commercial real estate, multifamily properties, investments, flips, and wholesale opportunities. Tafoya Real Estate has also built lending, coaching, lead-generation, and agent-development resources around its agents. "We didn't move because we needed another brokerage. We moved because the vision got bigger," Tafoya said. "I'm looking at the next 100, 200, or 500 agents and asking what platform gives them the greatest opportunity to build something of their own. What caught my attention wasn't the brokerage model, it was the opportunity to connect what we've built in Fresno and the Central Valley to a much larger platform." Tafoya says he evaluated eXp by looking at the organization he wants to build over the next five to 10 years. His plans include recruiting at a much higher level and giving agents more ways to grow through production, team building, ownership, agent attraction, coaching, and leadership. The group will also maintain its large North Fresno office, which will serve as a physical hub for eXp agents in the area. The space is designed for training, content creation, lending support, investment opportunities, and face-to-face collaboration. Thirty-two agents are already fully onboarded, with the remaining agents expected to complete the transition in the coming weeks. It's the first step in a plan Tafoya says is built for the long run; not just the next 37 agents, but the next 500. About AGNT, Inc. (AGNT) Built by Agents. Built for Agents. AGNT, Inc. (Nasdaq: AGNT) is the global parent company of eXp Realty(R), the most agent-centric(TM) real estate brokerage on the planet, NextHome, Inc., an award-winning national real estate franchise, FrameVR.io, a virtual collaboration platform, and SUCCESS(R) Enterprises, a leading personal development and media brand for entrepreneurs.
