Emigrant Partners, a minority investor in wealth and asset management, has announced a strategic investment in Mutual Group, a national platform serving independent financial advisors and registered investment advisors. Financial terms were not disclosed. Founded in 1982, Mutual Group supports over 270 advisor teams and independent RIAs overseeing approximately $15.3 billion in assets through broker-dealer and advisory capabilities. The company operates Evolve, a proprietary solution enabling RIAs to transition commission-based business to fee-only frameworks. Mutual's existing leadership will maintain majority ownership and continue directing strategy and operations. The investment will fund expansion of Mutual's national footprint, advisor engagement and platform enhancements. Emigrant Partners has minority investments in 22 firms overseeing $130 billion in combined assets under management and advisement.
This is Emigrant Partners’ second deal of the year and diversifies its partner firm network beyond the pure-play RIA.
Emigrant Partners has made a strategic investment in Keen Wealth Advisors, an independent registered investment adviser based in Overland Park, Kansas, managing $1.3 billion in assets. The funding will support Keen's growth and enable investments in team development, technology and client experience. Founded in 2014 by CEO Bill Keen, the firm specialises in retirement, tax and estate planning, with particular expertise serving the architecture, engineering and construction industries. Emigrant Partners holds a minority, non-voting position, allowing Keen to maintain independent operations with no changes to leadership or client service. Keen will use the investment to strengthen its brand and expand selectively whilst maintaining focus on existing clients. Houlihan Lokey advised Keen on the transaction. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Emigrant Partners, backed by the Milstein family, has taken a minority stake in Jim Dickson's Elevation Point, which targets breakaway advisors. The deal includes growth capital and a significant credit line. Elevation Point, co-founded by Dickson and Mark Penske, invests in RIAs with $200 million to $3 billion in client assets. The partnership will enhance services for high-net-worth clients by leveraging Emigrant's resources. Elevation Point was initially funded by family offices and debt capital.
Pure Financial Advisors, LLC, based in San Diego, has acquired Fairhaven Wealth Management, LLC, located in Wheaton, Illinois. Fairhaven manages nearly $900 million in client assets. This acquisition is Pure's second in 2025 and its sixth overall, expanding its presence in the Midwest. Both companies share a focus on financial planning and education, with a strong cultural fit. Fairhaven's founder, Marc Horner, sees this as a way to enhance their service while maintaining their unique culture.
