It uses an adaptive curriculum that tailors maths and English lessons to each child’s needs, while tutors focus on building confidence and a love of learning—no marking or planning required from teachers. The program combines a large network of over 4,000 staff and a blended centre-online model to deliver measurable academic progress, with about 19 months of typical gain in a year for many students. Its goal is to help children achieve meaningful academic growth and develop lifelong learning habits.

(Image: Supplied) A new tuition centre has opened to support school-age children with personalised learning. Explore Learning, the UK's largest independent tuition provider, launched its latest centre in Slough on June 3, bringing the total number of centres nationwide to 94. Designed as a "key educational hub" for learners aged four to 16, the centre focuses on maths and English tutoring and already has more than 125 families booked for a free trial session. Paul Drake, centre director at Explore Learning Slough, said: "Throughout my ten years with Explore Learning, I've had the pleasure of engaging with families and employees across several locations, including Reading, Cardiff, and Oxford. "I've witnessed firsthand the difference Explore Learning has made for thousands of children, and I can't wait to welcome even more families to our centre here in Slough." Explore Learning supports more than 50,000 children each year through its network of community-based centres. Their approach blends expert human guidance with adaptive technology, aiming to help each child build confidence, develop a love of learning, and make meaningful academic progress. Lisa Haycox, CEO of Explore Learning, said: "Slough Observer is really excited about its new opening in Slough and the opportunity to support children and families in the local area. "Every centre Slough Observer open provides new opportunities for children to access its in-person tuition. "By combining brilliant educators with intelligent technology, we can deliver a measurable impact and enable hundreds of children in this new centre to make exceptional progress." Tutors use the company's adaptive platform, Compass, to deliver personalised learning that adjusts in real-time to meet each child's needs, strengths and pace. Parents are kept informed through regular progress meetings and ongoing feedback. The company reports that its students achieve an average of 21 months' progress in just one year. In 2025, members outperformed the national average in all assessed areas of the National Curriculum. Explore Learning students achieve on average one grade higher than their predicted grades in GCSE Maths, according to the company. There was also a 35 per cent increase in the number of children with Special Educational Needs supported through its in-person and tech-enabled approach. The new centre is located inside the Sainsbury's on Uxbridge Road, Slough. It will be open from Tuesday to Saturday, including during school holidays. Explore Learning is offering a special introductory discount of £100 off the first two months for new customers. Families can book a free trial session to meet tutors, tour the centre and receive an initial assessment.
Graphite Capital is delighted to announce that Explore Learning has won the 'Excellence in Impact' category at this year's British Private Equity & Venture Capital Awards.
To help parents get their children to bed and ensure a good night's sleep before school, Explore Learning has teamed up with Chelsey Borson, a paediatric sleep consultant and founder of sleep coaching service Luna Leaps.
Explore Learning Ltd. is delighted to be recognised as a finalist in this year’s EducationInvestor awards.
