Overview

GFSC regulates Gibraltar's international financial services centre by supervising providers of financial services operating in Gibraltar and other jurisdictions. It licenses and oversees firms, enforces rules, and sets standards to maintain orderly markets and protect the public. It works by pursuing statutory objectives: promoting market confidence, reducing systemic risk, increasing public awareness, protecting Gibraltar’s good reputation, protecting consumers, and reducing financial crime. Its goal is to be recognized as the model international financial services regulator and to use regulation to promote healthy markets and enhance Gibraltar’s standing.
