Fama Technologies

AI-driven screening for toxic workplace behavior

Overview

Fama Technologies provides an AI-driven platform for talent acquisition and human resources that screens for toxic workplace behavior and identifies potential brand risks. The system analyzes thousands of job-relevant behaviors to help organizations spot risks without exposing users to unnecessary information, supporting safer hiring decisions and company culture management. The product is delivered via a subscription model, with additional add-on services for deeper analyses and reports. This approach differentiates Fama Technologies by focusing on preemptive risk mitigation of employee behavior to protect culture and brand reputation, rather than only evaluating candidates. The company’s goal is to help enterprises, HR teams, and screening agencies maintain a healthy work environment and avoid costly brand damage through proactive insight into workplace behavior.

Fama Becomes the First to Screen YouTube for Misconduct at Scale

Fama becomes the first to screen YouTube for misconduct at scale. Fama, the leading provider of social media screening for employers, today announced the launch of comprehensive YouTube screening, expanding its ability to surface workplace misconduct across the world's largest video platform. With more than 2.9 billion active users and over 500 hours of video uploaded every minute, YouTube represents the most extensive collection of user-generated video content online. Until now, employers have had no scalable, compliant way to review public YouTube content for misconduct risk. Fama's new YouTube capabilities allow organizations to identify eight types of workplace misconduct including threats, violence, harassment, and intolerance within both full-length videos and Shorts. From 30 second to 9-hour videos, Fama uses advanced AI models trained to understand context and Fama translates an otherwise unsearchable sea of content into structured workplace misconduct insights for hiring and ongoing talent management. "In less than five years, 75% of the global workforce will be digital natives," said Ben Mones, CEO of Fama. "This generation learns, communicates, and builds community online and much of that happens through video. As the way people express themselves evolves, so must the way organizations understand risk and reputation. Expanding Fama's coverage to YouTube gives employers the visibility to keep pace with a workforce that lives on video." "Our solution can analyze thousands of hours of public video content in minutes," said Brendten Eickstaedt, CTO of Fama. "The challenge wasn't just scale, it was context. We engineered a multilayered system that understands tone and context while filtering out protected-class information. The result is high-volume insight that's fair, accurate, and compliant." Compliance, Accuracy, and comprehensive coverage. * Compliant by design: Fama screens only publicly available content and aligns with FCRA, EEOC, PIPEDA, and GDPR. * Accuracy through AI + human review: More than 95% accurate across eight categories of workplace misconduct. * Comprehensive coverage: YouTube joins Fama's existing video sources TikTok and Instagram Reels, creating the industry's most complete view of public misconduct in video. About Fama. Fama makes hiring great people easy. Our modern candidate screening solutions use online signals to identify candidate fit. We highlight professional attributes such as creativity, innovation, and problem solving while also surfacing costly misconduct such as violence, harassment, and fraud. We help organizations answer the big question: how might a candidate act around coworkers or customers when they join? Talent teams use Fama to improve candidate quality and employee retention, create safe and inclusive workplaces, and place the right leadership for their organizations. Fama is compliant with the FCRA, GDPR, and integrates into a wide range of HRIS, ATS, and background screening solutions. Founded in 2015, Fama is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.
