How Tempo turned one coach's music taste into a top-performing station. February 17, 2026 When it comes to digital fitness, coaches are more than trainers. They're influencers, motivators, and community leaders. Their personalities and tastes build loyalty, and nothing expresses that more immediately than music. That's why Tempo partnered with Feed.fm to launch a trainer-inspired station built around the signature music taste of Head Coach Melissa Boyd. The result: a limited-edition station that became one of the app's top five choices, driving deeper engagement between instructor and audience. The challenge Tempo wanted to celebrate Coach Melissa's anniversary as one of their longest-standing and most-loved coaches. They also wanted to do it in a way that felt meaningful, fresh, and interactive for members. Traditional content campaigns alone wouldn't cut it. The team knew music could play a unique role. Fans already associated Coach Melissa with a high-energy experience. So Tempo turned to Feed.fm to help transform that identity into something scalable that could drive engagement across the app. The solution Feed.fm collaborated with Coach Melissa and the Tempo content team to curate a limited-edition trainer-inspired station. - Music selections were inspired directly by Coach Melissa's taste, including artists like Jamie xx, Barry Can't Swim, and IDLES. - The Feed.fm curation team went to work to deliver a complete station full of tracks that were clean (no explicit content), cleared, and on-brand. - The launch aligned with her anniversary as a coach, making it both celebratory and timely. - The station was added to the app's music menu, with the selected station visible at the start of each of her classes and a dropdown option if members wanted to change it. This combination of personal tastes + expert curation made the station authentic to the coach while still aligned to brand tone and licensing requirements. The results The trainer-inspired station quickly became one of the top five stations in the app. Members loved hearing what inspired their coach. It created a sense of connection and exclusivity, as if they were working out with her in real time. For the brand: it was a marketing win, giving them a fresh story to tell around personalization and community. "It was great to be able to add some of our coaches personal flair to our music selection. It gave us a chance to highlight them while giving the users a special gift too." - Clarence Hairston-Bellotti, Director of Content Operations, Tempo For the trainer: it elevated her profile, showing her influence extended beyond workouts. "This playlist is what I work out to when I need motivation, momentum, and good energy so it was nice to be able to give the users a glimpse into that." - Melissa Boyd, Head Coach, Tempo For users: it was another reason to return to the app, stay engaged, and feel part of something bigger. "Coach Melissa per my request. Can we keep her playlist on the music because it's the best!" Tempo member Why it worked This project highlights a powerful strategy: launching limited-edition radio stations as a way to celebrate coaches, mark milestones, and give marketing teams a fresh angle to drive awareness. These stations go beyond novelty. They're sticky, measurable, and personal. They boost app metrics while deepening emotional bonds between users, trainers, and the brand. And they're only possible with a partner like Feed.fm who can combine expert curation, licensing, and product integration. Tempo succeeded in boosting retention, celebrating one of their top coaches, and giving users something new to engage with. Feed.fm helps brands build these moments with the right mix of curation, licensing, and tech integration, so your users don't just show up, they keep coming back. Learn about custom music solutions
WMG and Feed.fm partner to bring premium music clips to apps - here's the top-level on the handshake. WMG and Feed.fm partner to bring premium music clips to apps - here's the top-level on the handshake ashley king november 13, 2025. WMG partners with Feed.fm, launching a music clip API that enables digital platforms to integrate song clips from major labels' catalogs. The tie-up follows a spate of infringement lawsuits tied to improperly-licensed music on social media and other formats. Feed.fm and Warner Music Group (WMG) have partnered up to launch Feed Clips, a new music clip API that enables digital platforms to integrate song clips from major label catalogs. The tie-up sounds like great news for creators who are loathe to incorporate major label-repped content due to litigation risks. The collaboration unites Feed.fm's technology with WMG's expansive catalog to make it easier for developers to integrate fully licensed song clips through a secure system. With this partnership, Feed.fm is now touting an 'end-to-end solution' for music clips that includes licensing, curation, and in-app experiences delivered via API. The Feed Clips music API also gives WMG and its artists and songwriters a way to bring music into social platforms to boost music discovery and fandom. It expands discovery into new apps where fans are creating with music, unlocking the potential for scalable reach and deeper cultural relevance across digital landscapes. For WMG, the partnership opens new avenues for music discovery and monetization in environments where music discovery and viral sharing occur daily. For developers, the product offers a "turnkey" system complete with curated content, full API support, and built-in usage reporting. "We're excited to work with Feed.fm to bring music to more experiences," said Rachel Scarpati, VP, Business Development & Digital Strategy, WMG. "This partnership is another step toward building a more innovative music ecosystem that fuels creativity, discovery, and genuine connection." "WMG is a forward-thinking partner, and we're proud to collaborate with them to power music in new and innovative digital experiences," said Jeff Yasuda, CEO and founder of Feed.fm. "As music becomes a core layer of connection in social environments, this partnership helps us bring artists, developers, and fans into closer synergy." Feed.fm says the launch of Feed Clips also represents a significant opportunity for music to be embedded in more facets of digital expression, from social media to interactive cards and creative messaging tools.
