Banks gain ground on fraud as ITSS taps Feedzai.

Banks gain ground on fraud as ITSS taps Feedzai. September 08, 2026 IT Smart Systems has entered a strategic alliance with Feedzai to combine fraud detection technology with banking delivery expertise. The tie-up brings Feedzai's RiskOps platform into ITSS's existing portfolio, giving the integrator new machine learning capabilities for spotting fraud and tackling money laundering, alongside its established work in digital banking, payments and enterprise integration. The move responds to mounting pressure on banks to defend against increasingly sophisticated financial crime while still delivering frictionless digital services to customers. Feedzai's technology currently underpins risk decisions across more than $9tn in payments protected annually, while ITSS has spent 24 years building digital banking and payment infrastructure. Together, the two firms intend to help financial institutions guard the entire payments journey across every channel, positioning the partnership as a readiness step ahead of the growth of instant payments and the planned digital euro. Rather than bolting fraud checks on as a separate step, the companies plan to weave real-time risk assessment into each stage of the customer journey, spanning digital onboarding, everyday payments and ongoing transaction monitoring. ITSS's practical experience spans onboarding, omnichannel payments, SEPA processing and KYC and AML workflows, which the company says allows fraud prevention to sit inside the digital experience rather than alongside it. A further outcome of the agreement is wider availability of Feedzai's RiskOps tools in Romania and across the broader CEE market. ITSS operates as a specialist in modernising banking platforms, integrating payment infrastructure and building omnichannel digital experiences for financial institutions, with a long-standing focus on the Romanian and CEE markets. Feedzai positions itself as a global authority in AI-native financial crime prevention, applying machine learning to detect and prevent fraud and money laundering across large volumes of global payment activity. IT Smart Systems executive partner Alex Cociu said, "This partnership is more than a new technology alliance. It represents the next step in ITSS's strategic vision: combining digital banking, enterprise integration, payments, AI, and fraud prevention into a unified, complete ecosystem for financial institutions. Its customers already trust RegTech Analyst to modernize banking platforms, integrate complex payment infrastructures, and deliver omnichannel digital experiences. Now, together with Feedzai, RegTech Analyst can also help them stay ahead of increasingly sophisticated financial crime through AI-powered fraud prevention and AML capabilities." Feedzai general manager Maximilian von Criegern said, "AI is making scams more convincing and more scalable than ever. Behind every fraud loss is a person whose finances, ambitions, and future are affected. By partnering with ITSS, we're strengthening defenses against evolving threats and helping protect customers from fraud before it happens." For those tracking where financial crime prevention and digital banking infrastructure are heading next, this alliance is worth watching closely. Enjoyed the story?

ITSS and Feedzai unite to outpace payment fraud.

ITSS and Feedzai unite to outpace payment fraud. September 8, 2026 IT Smart Systems has entered a strategic partnership with Feedzai, an AI-native financial crime prevention specialist, to strengthen fraud protection across digital payment journeys. The tie-up sees ITSS add Feedzai's RiskOps platform to its portfolio, bringing machine learning capabilities for fraud detection and anti-money laundering alongside its existing digital banking, payments and enterprise integration offering. The move is designed to help financial institutions defend against increasingly sophisticated financial crime without disrupting the customer experience. Banks and financial institutions are facing mounting pressure to reconcile robust risk controls with frictionless digital services, as criminals adopt more advanced tactics. By combining Feedzai's global risk intelligence, which the company says spans more than $9tn in protected payments annually, with ITSS's 24 years of experience across banking and payments ecosystems, the partnership aims to reinforce fraud prevention throughout the entire payments journey and across all channels. The companies frame this as a move away from conventional payment processing towards proactive, AI-driven prevention built to support the growth of instant payments and the anticipated digital euro. Rather than positioning fraud prevention as a bolt-on security measure, the partnership embeds real-time risk decisioning directly into customer journeys, spanning digital onboarding, payment execution and ongoing transaction monitoring. ITSS's integration experience covers onboarding, omnichannel payments, SEPA transactions and KYC and AML workflows, positioning fraud prevention as an embedded part of the digital experience rather than a separate layer. The agreement also broadens access to Feedzai's RiskOps capabilities across Romania and the wider Central and Eastern European region. ITSS executive partner Alex Cociu said, "This partnership is more than a new technology alliance. It represents the next step in ITSS's strategic vision: combining digital banking, enterprise integration, payments, AI, and fraud prevention into a unified, complete ecosystem for financial institutions. Our customers already trust us to modernize banking platforms, integrate complex payment infrastructures, and deliver omnichannel digital experiences. Now, together with Feedzai, we can also help them stay ahead of increasingly sophisticated financial crime through AI-powered fraud prevention and AML capabilities." Feedzai general manager Maximilian von Criegern said, "AI is making scams more convincing and more scalable than ever. Behind every fraud loss is a person whose finances, ambitions, and future are affected. By partnering with ITSS, we're strengthening defenses against evolving threats and helping protect customers from fraud before it happens." For institutions across the CEE region navigating an accelerating shift towards instant payments, this alliance offers an early signal of how fraud prevention infrastructure is being rebuilt for the next generation of financial crime. ITSS and Feedzai join forces in fight agant fraud. A new AI-driven partnership aims to slash digital fraud and improve transaction security for lenders and their retail partners. Curated by Financing Your Way from original reporting by Finextra - Lending. Summary is AI-assisted and editorially reviewed - see its editorial standards. This partnership between ITSS and Feedzai is designed to make digital lending and retail banking significantly safer. For merchants and lenders, this means fewer fraudulent applications getting through and more accurate approvals for legitimate customers. Feedzai uses advanced AI to analyze transaction patterns in real-time, catching sophisticated scams that older systems might miss. When a customer applies for financing at your point of sale, the 'behind-the-scenes' technology needs to decide instantly if that person is a fraud risk. By integrating these AI-native tools into the banking infrastructure that many lenders use, the industry is moving toward a frictionless but highly secure checkout experience. This reduces 'false positives' where honest customers are declined, which directly protects your conversion rates. It also helps mitigate the rising tide of identity theft in the Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) and consumer credit space. Better fraud detection translates to lower costs for lenders, which can lead to better financing rates for your customers in the long run. Who else is covering this

CNBC recognizes feedzai as one of World's Top Fintech Companies. Judged in tandem with Statista, the program selected 500 fintech companies that are leading and driving change in their respective fields, with a focus on scale, profitability, and regulatory maturity. This year's program comes against the backdrop of a booming fintech market and fast-paced AI innovation, which are forcing the industry to adapt quickly. The RegTech category, specifically, was a new addition to this year's program and focused on companies that are helping organizations stay safe and compliant through reporting, identity verification, and risk and anti-money-laundering monitoring. According to CNBC, the category's addition can be at least partially attributed to the ways that AI and a maturing fintech ecosystem are transforming risk for banks and enterprises. Feedzai opens $9T fraud intelligence network to banks, delivers 4x fraud detection improvement

Feedzai has launched Feedzai IQ Score, an AI-powered fraud risk scoring solution that gives banks access to network-derived intelligence from its $9 trillion global transaction network. The service is available through a single API on AWS Marketplace. The solution addresses the "Silo and Legacy Paradox", where banks rely on limited internal data to detect fraud. Feedzai IQ Score provides real-time access to anonymised, aggregated insights without requiring historical data or lengthy model training, enabling institutions to achieve value within days. The system delivers four times more fraud detection and 50 per cent fewer alerts compared to traditional rules-based approaches. It uses federated learning to share risk signals across the network whilst keeping customer data private. The solution particularly benefits regional and mid-sized banks lacking resources to build sophisticated fraud models independently.
