Prosus pumps millions into instant delivery service Flink. Prosus is leading a new investment round of approximately $100 million in Flink. The capital injection strengthens the position of the instant delivery service as a market leader in Germany and the Netherlands, following a turbulent consolidation battle in the European online grocery market. In addition to Prosus, existing shareholders and new investor Btomorrow Ventures are also participating in the round. With the additional capital, Flink gains the necessary strength to further expand its core markets and respond to the changing market dynamics. Operational discipline. Where the sector was driven by unchecked growth and enormous losses just a few years ago, the focus is now entirely on profitability. Flink has drastically refined its business model in recent periods. Through a sharp focus on operational excellence and disciplined cost structures, the company is now profitable at EBITDA level. 'The market has fundamentally changed,' says Julian Dames, CEO of Flink. 'Quick commerce only works when it is built on operational discipline and realistic customer expectations. Our strength lies in combining profitable operations with on-demand delivery. This model clearly distinguishes us from the rest.' Consolidation in Europe. The investment by Prosus is an important signal for the market. After the disappearance or absorption of various competitors (such as Getir and Zapp), Flink proves with this round that there is still great confidence in the instant delivery model, provided the underlying figures are sound. For Flink, the $100 million means extra flexibility to cement its leading position in the 'quick groceries' category.
Flink raises $100M growth capital led by Prosus after hitting EBITDA profitability, targeting new hubs in Germany/Netherlands as Europe's quick commerce consolidates
Flink SE has raised $100 million in a funding round valuing the grocery delivery startup at $900 million, signalling recovery from its pandemic-era valuation decline. The round was led by Prosus NV, with participation from existing investors and new backer Btomorrow Ventures, the venture arm of British American Tobacco. The increased valuation marks a stabilisation for the company, which had seen its worth plummet from pandemic highs when demand for quick grocery delivery surged. The funding represents a turnaround for Flink as the delivery sector continues to consolidate following the post-pandemic slowdown in online ordering.
Flink, a trendy new burger spot with a playful name and serious culinary backing, is slated to open in early October 2025 on the Upper Newtownards Road, taking over the former site of the Squid Shack.
Flink has issued new shares as part of a capital increase to provide stock packages as incentives for its top management. This move allows leading employees of the rapid grocery delivery service to be directly involved in the company's success.
