Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) has entered a capital and business alliance with Folta, a Tokyo-based startup specialising in security technology for generative AI usage. The partnership, announced on 24 April 2026, addresses "shadow AI" — employees' unauthorised use of AI services that companies cannot monitor. Folta provides a secure browser service that controls and monitors generative AI usage in real time via web browsers. DNP, which has managed over 45,000 information terminals, will combine Folta's browser-based control technology with its existing security services to help companies reduce information leakage risks whilst maintaining AI productivity. The companies will jointly sell Folta's secure browser service and develop new security solutions extending beyond web browsers to AI applications, supporting comprehensive AI governance for enterprises.
