Frima Studio

Cross-platform game development and licensed IPs

Overview

Frima Studio is a Canadian video game developer that works on both sides of the industry: it creates its own original game titles and also provides co-development services for big players. Its projects span PC, console, and mobile games, with work that covers licensed game creation, brand adaptation, live operations, and business intelligence. Since 2018 it has used data-driven market analysis to shape its game development. The company operates across the full development cycle, often partnering with clients like Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, and Warner Brothers. It has expanded through acquisitions and strategic shifts—including Humagade in 2008, Volta in 2011, and a major investment in 2015—and, in 2024, saw Epic Storyworlds acquire its catalog of more than 20 original IPs to revive them. Frima’s goal is to deliver engaging cross-platform games while growing its own IP portfolio and leveraging data to guide creation and live operations for better performance.
