Sauvegarder Investment Management (SIM IP), a global intellectual property investment firm, has merged with Garden Intel, an AI-driven patent intelligence company, in a deal valuing Garden Intel at $150 million. The merger creates a vertically integrated platform combining SIM IP's licensing expertise with Garden's agentic AI infrastructure. The combined entity addresses a major market inefficiency: whilst patents represent hundreds of billions in latent value, fewer than 2% of issued patents generate financial returns. Garden's technology completes patent analysis in hours rather than months, enabling non-linear revenue scaling. The platform uses AI to fuse patent data with commercial signals, creating what executives call a "self-reinforcing flywheel" where each analysed patent and executed licence feeds proprietary data back into the system. The merged company will operate under the SIM IP brand.
