Geneva Trading trades futures, options and other derivatives with its own capital, acting as a market maker that posts prices to buy and sell on exchanges in the US and Europe. Its desks run several styles side by side, from automated market making and high-speed algorithms to relative-value models and discretionary traders who make their own calls. They cover energy, metals, interest rates, farm goods, currencies, stock indexes and digital assets, and Geneva makes money from its own trading gains rather than client fees. The firm was founded in Dublin in 1999 by two Chicago Board of Trade traders and is based in Chicago, with offices in Dublin and London.
