Corporate venture funding agri/food/fintech lifetech startups

Overview

Global Brain manages Norinchukin Innovation Fund L.P., the corporate venture capital fund of The Norinchukin Bank. It invests in startups with advanced technologies across AgriTech, FoodTech, FinTech, LifeTech, and regional revitalization, aiming to address social issues and promote sustainable development. The fund targets early to mature-stage companies (including Series B) and uses open innovation to create synergies within the bank’s networks, supporting collaboration between the parent organization and portfolio companies. Unlike typical funds that focus only on financial return, this fund emphasizes social impact, regional revitalization, and building a carbon-free society by backing technology-driven solutions and leveraging Global Brain’s global reach. Its goal is to drive open innovation, accelerate adoption of new technologies in agriculture and related sectors, and foster co-creation that benefits both the industries it serves and the broader community.
