Global Credit Union opens new branch in Utqiaġvik.

Global Credit Union opens new branch in Utqiaġvik. On July 9, 2026, Global Credit Union celebrated the grand opening of its new Utqiaġvik branch, expanding access to essential financial services for residents, businesses, and families across Alaska's North Slope. Located inside AC Stuaqpak at 4725 Ahkovak Street, the new branch provides in-person banking support, ATM access, loans, deposits and withdrawals, and other services designed to meet members where they live, work, and shop. The branch opening builds on Global's partnership with Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC) and reflects a shared commitment to strengthening local access to financial tools, education, and resources for the Utqiaġvik community. Community members, partners, and Global representatives gathered to mark the milestone and celebrate the new branch's role in bringing more convenient financial access to the northernmost community in the United States. The event highlighted the collaboration and local support that helped bring the branch to life. "We are honored to serve the Utqiaġvik community and grateful for the partnership and support that helped make this new location possible," said Geoff Lundfelt, president and CEO of Global Credit Union. "The grand opening was exciting and humbling - we were pleased to stand beside our partners from UIC, our new team members, and the community to celebrate bringing in-person financial resources to the community. It was also a great opportunity to thank the community for their long-time membership and for their incredible support of this new branch. We couldn't be more excited." In addition to traditional banking services, Global plans to offer complimentary programs that support financial empowerment in the region, including financial literacy workshops, digital banking training, small business support, and introductory retirement and investment planning resources. The Utqiaġvik branch reinforces Global's commitment to serving communities throughout Alaska by investing in solutions that help members access everyday banking, build financial confidence, and plan for the future.

The deployment supports Global's presence in the North Slope region of the state and reflects the use of Atleos self-service banking technology in some of the world's most remote environments. New Child Watch center provides childcare options on base.

New Child Watch center provides childcare options on base. March 31, 2026 JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska - March 3, 2026 Global Credit Union, in partnership with the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska (ASYMCA), celebrated the grand opening of a new Child Watch childcare center located inside Global's Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) branch, expanding access to flexible, short-term childcare for military families on base. The Child Watch center provides drop-in childcare for infants through toddlers, offering a safe, engaging environment for children while parents attend appointments, run errands, or manage other responsibilities. Designed with multiple play zones and age-appropriate activities, the space supports learning, creativity, and social interaction in a secure setting. To make the center possible, Global donated a portion of its JBER branch space, continuing its longstanding partnership with the ASYMCA and a shared commitment to supporting military families through practical, community-focused solutions. "Access to nearby, trusted childcare changes the experience for many of my patients. The Child Watch center allows parents to focus on their appointments knowing their children are safe and cared for," said Dr. MaryBeth Goodman, Executive Director of Service Member, Veteran, and Family Services at Alaska Behavioral Health. "I appreciate Global Credit Union and the ASYMCA for creating a solution that truly supports military families." The opening of the Child Watch center also allows for additional space at the Global-ASYMCA Learning Center, a classroom-based early learning and daycare program previously sharing space with the drop-in service. With the Child Watch now housed in its own dedicated location, both programs are better positioned to serve families and meet their distinct childcare needs. The Child Watch center is open to military families and reflects a broader commitment by Global and the ASYMCA to invest in services that strengthen families, support readiness, and enhance quality of life on base.
