Golden Aluminum manufactures aluminum sheet and roll stock in Fort Lupton, using a patented casting process to produce a wide range of alloys, thicknesses, coatings, and colors. The product is formed by casting the alloys, then rolling them into thin sheet stock (as thin as .005 inches up to .032 inches) with tight tolerances and optional FDA-coated finishes. It differentiates itself with the patented casting method that supports diverse finishes and ultra-thin sheets with precise tolerances, all within a privately held ISO 9001-certified facility since 1983. Its goal is to supply specialized, reliable aluminum roll stock and coated products for food, beverage, electronics, and building industries while meeting exact specifications and regulatory requirements.

Why Golden Aluminum, Inc. is going to ALUMINIUM dusseldorf this October. August 10, 2026 This year, Golden Aluminum will be in Düsseldorf, Germany for ALUMINIUM 2026, the industry's leading trade fair, taking place October 6 through 8 at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre. This biennial edition is organized around a theme that fits Golden Aluminum, Inc. well: "Sharing a Vision." ALUMINIUM 2026 is expected to bring in more than 30,000 visitors and around 1,000 exhibitors from nearly 50 countries. Like the industry as a whole, the show is likely to center on conversations about sustainability, recycling, the circular economy, and the broader transformation underway across aluminum production. Those are things Golden Aluminum, Inc. think about constantly at Golden Aluminum, and they're a large part of why Golden Aluminum, Inc. is making the trip. Four decades of continuous casting. To understand how all of this connects, it helps to go back a few decades. Golden Aluminum's Fort Lupton, Colorado facility has been operating since 1983, built on the then-unproven idea that recycled aluminum beverage cans could be cast continuously into high-quality sheet. Golden Aluminum, Inc. backed that belief further in 1987 by partnering with Lauener Engineering, the company behind the original blockcasting system. Over the decades that followed, that machine became one of the most successful continuous casters in the world, running reliably for over 40 years and producing over a billion pounds of aluminum along the way. Nexcast(R), its newest casting technology, grew out of that history. Co-developed with SMS Group, it takes everything Golden Aluminum, Inc. learned running that original system and applies it to a more advanced line. For most of the industry, continuous casting means choosing between speed and cost on one hand, and the ability to run high-value alloys on the other. In practice, that means most continuous casters simply can't handle heat-treatable, high-magnesium grades, the kind of sophisticated alloys that packaging, automotive, and other demanding applications increasingly require. Producers needing those alloys have typically had to fall back on conventional ingot casting instead, at the cost of a larger footprint, more energy, and more capital. Nexcast(R) was built to close that gap. Benchmarked against the conventional process, Nexcast(R) delivers a 90% smaller footprint, uses 25% less energy, and requires 40% less capital cost, all without giving up the capability to run sophisticated, high-value alloys. Proven in production. Nexcast(R) produced its first hot-rolled coil on July 5, 2025, just four weeks after installation began, and reached full production capacity within its first month. It has run successful extended casting campaigns and handled on-the-fly alloy changeovers involving high-magnesium AA5182. It's been in commercial operation ever since. Its original block caster wasn't holding Golden Aluminum, Inc. back. It was efficient, it was capable of running what its customers needed, and it proved that for four decades straight. So when Golden Aluminum, Inc. talk about Nexcast(R) internally, Golden Aluminum, Inc. is not talking about fixing a compromise Golden Aluminum, Inc. were living with. Golden Aluminum, Inc. is talking about modernization. Taking four decades of operating knowledge and applying it to a system built for where the industry is headed next. Find Golden Aluminum, Inc. in dusseldorf. This is what's taking Golden Aluminum, Inc. to Düsseldorf. SMS Group will be showcasing Nexcast(R), and Golden Aluminum, Inc.'ll be there alongside them, as the team that's been running this technology in a real production environment since last summer. It also reflects something Golden Aluminum, Inc. has believed for a long time: that the industry moves forward faster when real advances don't stay siloed. That's part of why Golden Aluminum, Inc. made Nexcast(R) available to select partners earlier this year. Sharing a vision is how Golden Aluminum, Inc. do things. If you're attending ALUMINIUM 2026 and want to talk about what next-generation continuous casting could mean for your own mill, Golden Aluminum, Inc.'d welcome the conversation. MINO awarded Phase One modernization contract for Golden Aluminum, fort lupton CO tandem cold rolling mill. * May 12, 2026 MINO is pleased to announce the award of an important modernization contract from Golden Aluminum, a leading U.S. producer of high-quality aluminum coils specialized in packaging, automotive, building, and pharmaceutical applications. The project represents Phase One of a multi-phase upgrade of Golden Aluminum's existing tandem cold rolling mill, aimed at enhancing strip quality, operational efficiency, and process reliability, while preparing the mill for additional technological upgrades in future phases. This modernization is part of Golden Aluminum's strategy to upgrade its cold rolling operations with state-of-the-art solutions. MINO will provide a comprehensive package, combining mechanical improvements and advanced automation systems, specifically designed to maximize the performance of the existing tandem mill. Scope of the Phase One Modernization The first phase includes: * Advanced strip monitoring systems, including laser speed measurement and shape/flatness control for precise strip profile management * Upgraded lubrication and cooling systems to improve process stability and surface quality * Enhanced exit strip control, enabling real-time flatness and shape monitoring * Complete automation upgrade of the tandem mill, fully integrated with existing main and auxiliary drives * New Technological Control System (TCS) for advanced process optimization and closed-loop control * New operator pulpit and local control panels for improved supervision and operational efficiency * Laser speed measurement integrated with new thickness gauges to increase process accuracy and reliability Expected benefits. These upgrades are designed to: * Improve strip flatness, thicknessand consistency * Reduce scrap and rework * Enhance operational stability and reliability * Align the mill with the latest standards in aluminum cold rolling technology The collaboration between MINO and Golden Aluminum demonstrates a shared commitment to high-quality aluminum products, process innovation, and operational excellence. With this project, MINO strengthens its presence in the U.S. aluminum market and reinforces its position as a trusted partner for advanced rolling mill solutions. This important project began with MINO carrying out a comprehensive study of the existing Cold mill to investigate what improvements were needed and possible, this also included surveying the mill to check alignments and a 3D scan of the mill area. These will be used in the Mino 3D modelling for upgraded mill layout. MINO is proud to support Golden Aluminum in achieving its strategic modernization goals and looks forward to delivering a project that reflects the quality, precision, and reliability of MINO technology.
