Aquilon brings modular 4K/8K screens to IBC.

Aquilon brings modular 4K/8K screens to IBC. By Kirsty Hazlewood 06 August 2026 French tech firm Analog Way will showcase Aquilon, its new range of modular, scalable 4K and 8K multi-screen presentation systems and videowall processors, at IBC2026 next month. The system is designed to manage ultra-wide, custom-resolution, multi-output LED walls used for TV studio backdrops, panoramic presentation sets and virtual production stages. It supports non-standard source formats, including media servers and real-time rendering engines, allowing content to stay in its native format without the synchronisation constraints of conventional production equipment. Aquilon's image processing engine, combined with 3D LUT-based colour management, aims to ensure consistent colour reproduction across mixed sources and display technologies. This matters for LED walls used as on-camera backgrounds, where scaling artefacts or colour inconsistencies can become visible in the final broadcast image. Ultra-low latency processing is designed to keep on-set displays synchronised with live action and camera feeds, avoiding timing discrepancies when both appear in the same shot. Stand Number: 8.C75g Latest Product news 06 August 2026 XenData will introduce a trio of appliances at IBC2026 for archiving to LTO tape libraries, accessible simultaneously as a file system and as S3 object storage. 06 August 2026 Grass Valley will showcase FLX Reporter at IBC2026, a new mobile contribution app that connects field contributors directly to its Framelight X web editor, speeding up live production workflows. 06 August 2026 Aqua Broadcast will unveil its Cobalt CP series of high-power FM transmitters at IBC2026, featuring the fully modular, hot-pluggable CP-8000 and CP-10000 broadcast transmitter models. 06 August 2026 Clear-Com has launched Avalon, a new 1RU IP intercom platform for networked production, designed to simplify and scale workflows across broadcast and live events. 06 August 2026 MultiDyne will demonstrate at IBC2026 how its Cinebot Nano compact motion control system has been adopted by broadcasters and boutique production houses. Grass Valley unveils AMPP Edge Live production system ahead of InfoComm 2026.

Grass Valley unveils AMPP Edge Live production system ahead of InfoComm 2026. Grass Valley has introduced AMPP Edge Live, a purpose-built media production system designed to bring professional, broadcast-quality capabilities to enterprise environments without the complexity of traditional multi-vendor infrastructure. Debuting at InfoComm 2026 in Las Vegas (North Hall, Booth N7369-MR), the new hardware-and-software appliance addresses the mounting pressure on internal video teams across corporate communications, education, government, houses of worship, and live events to produce high-volume content with limited technical personnel. AMPP Edge Live addresses this challenge by providing a flexible production foundation that grows with organizational needs. Combining Grass Valley hardware, NVIDIA Blackwell GPU acceleration and AMPP OS in a single solution, the platform enables organizations to deploy the capabilities they need, with the freedom to expand, repurpose and scale services as requirements change. Rather than investing in separate systems for future production needs, organizations can build around a common production platform that evolves through software. New capabilities can be introduced without redesigning the underlying infrastructure, while validated Grass Valley hardware and a unified ownership model deliver the reliability and predictable performance organizations need for mission-critical production workflows. "Production requirements are constantly evolving as audience expectations shift, creating challenges for enterprise organizations whose production infrastructures were not designed for today's demands," said Jonathan Lyth, Product Director for Enterprise Media, Grass Valley. "Businesses need production platforms that combine operational agility with the confidence of reliable performance. AMPP Edge Live delivers both, enabling organizations to adapt and scale production capabilities without adding operational complexity." The solution is available in two models that serve different production demands: - AMPP Edge Live 4000 is ideal for live event production and provides the performance to run solutions such as Event Producer X, which brings production switching, graphics, audio mixing, recording, streaming, monitoring and production control into a single browser-based interface. - AMPP Edge Live 6000 adds processing performance for more demanding production requirements and supports Sport Producer X, which combines switching, graphics, scoring, timing, data integration and instant replay for sports production. Across both models, operators can manage workflows that previously required multiple specialist systems and dedicated personnel, all through one production environment. Beyond flexibility, AMPP Edge Live simplifies lifecycle management through a unified ownership model. Grass Valley designs, validates and supports AMPP Edge Live as a complete solution, managing hardware validation, software compatibility, updates and support through a single point of accountability. This removes much of the integration burden associated with multi-vendor environments while helping ensure organizations remain ready for future production requirements. AMPP Edge Live is built on a short-depth 4 RU chassis with redundant power and modular AMPP I/O cards, so connectivity can be tailored to each workflow. It includes enterprise-grade security, centralized management and role-based access controls, and forms part of the Grass Valley Media Universe, supporting on-premise, hybrid and cloud-connected workflows. The result is a production environment that allows organizations to focus on content creation rather than infrastructure management, without compromising flexibility, reliability or performance. AMPP Edge Live is available now in the L4000 and L6000 appliance models, with SDI 8 and SDI 12 AMPP I/O card options and media storage choices of 2 TB or 4 TB. Grass Valley and Lawo collaborate on open media infrastructure integration.

Grass Valley and Lawo collaborate on open media infrastructure integration. Through this collaboration, Grass Valley and Lawo are exploring interoperability across orchestration, control, media exchange and monitoring, supporting the industry's move toward open, dynamic media facilities. Grass Valley and Lawo have announced a new technology collaboration aimed at validating interoperability between Grass Valley's AMPP platform and Lawo's HOME management and orchestration platform, supporting the media industry's transition toward open, software-based production environments. The initiative focuses on integrating orchestration, control and media exchange capabilities between the two platforms, aligning with both companies' commitment to open-system architectures and industry frameworks such as the European Broadcasting Union's Dynamic Media Facility (DMF) initiative and the Media eXchange Layer (MXL) project. As broadcasters and media organisations increasingly adopt hybrid production models that combine on-premises infrastructure with cloud-based workflows, demand is growing for technology platforms that can operate together seamlessly without requiring extensive custom integration. Through the collaboration, Grass Valley and Lawo aim to demonstrate how open and flexible media infrastructures can be implemented across both software and hardware environments. The initial phase of the partnership will focus on validating interoperability across key areas including orchestration, control, media transport, operational monitoring and secure deployment. The companies will also explore practical applications such as multi-platform routing, cross-environment resource management and MXL-aligned media exchange between software-driven production systems. Jon Wilson, Chief Executive Officer at Grass Valley, said: "At Grass Valley, Open by Design is a foundational commitment to helping customers build the future of media infrastructure on their terms. The industry is moving toward dynamic, software-based media facilities where customers need confidence that leading platforms can interoperate across control, orchestration and media exchange. By collaborating with Lawo, we are together helping to show how DMF principles can be applied in real-world, multi-vendor deployments." The partnership supports the broader strategies of both companies to help customers modernise operations while maintaining flexibility and freedom of choice. AMPP and HOME are both designed to support live production and media workflows across cloud, edge and hybrid deployments, providing broadcasters with scalable and adaptable operational frameworks. According to the companies, the collaboration is expected to reduce integration complexity, improve deployment confidence and accelerate the adoption of open media ecosystems. Rather than creating proprietary environments, the focus is on validating the interoperability models needed for large-scale multi-vendor operations. Jamie Dunn, CEO at Lawo, added: "Lawo shares Grass Valley's commitment to open, interoperable media infrastructure. Lawo HOME is designed to support the management and orchestration of modern IP-based media environments, and this collaboration with Grass Valley reflects the importance of practical interoperability between the market-leading software infrastructure platforms. Together, we are enabling customers to implement dynamic media facilities today without concerns about vendor lock-in or restrictions." Adam Marshall, Chief Product Officer at Grass Valley, commented: "This is an important step in showcasing open orchestration, media exchange and software-based operations in practice. Customers are not looking for theory; they want evidence that open, multi-vendor architectures can be deployed with confidence and that is exactly what this collaboration is designed to support." Andreas Hilmer, Chief Marketing Officer at Lawo, stated: "This collaboration reflects how closely we work with customers to address real-world needs. From compact use cases to the scale of the largest global live productions, we support solutions that customers can adopt with confidence today."
