XTD, founded in 2021 by cybersecurity experts, protects mobile, web and desktop applications against cyber threats by predicting, detecting and combating risks before they affect apps. The acquisition brings Guardsquare 60 new customers, predominantly tier 1 and 2 companies in media and financial sectors, including Crédit Agricole and Deutsche Bank. CEO Roel Caers said the deal expands Guardsquare's presence into four new countries: Scotland, the Netherlands, Finland and Hungary. The French cybersecurity company Verimatrix, listed on the Paris stock exchange, sold the division to its Leuven-based competitor.
