HCA Healthcare UK invests in new £17m medical centre

HCA Healthcare UK invests in new £17m medical centre. HCA Healthcare UK is expanding its network, with a new 17 million GBP outpatient, primary care and diagnostics centre located directly next to St Paul's Cathedral and the London Stock Exchange. Opening in early 2027, St Paul's Outpatients will offer City workers and residents' fast access to private GP appointments, health screening, specialist care, and advanced diagnostics - all in one central location. The new centre is located at Paternoster Square, serving more than 680,000 workers who are estimated to work in the area. It is designed to meet the rising demand for workplace health services, with a focus on prevention, early detection, and fast access to medical care. The facility will provide GP-led primary care, comprehensive health screening, and specialist consultations across 18 consulting rooms alongside a comprehensive range of on-site diagnostics including two MRIs, ultrasound, X-ray and mammography. Patients and employers will benefit from a variety of 'one-stop' clinics, rapid access to diagnostics and seamless referral pathways to HCA UK's wider network where onward care is required. This investment forms part of HCA UK's continued growth across London, following the opening of Canary Wharf Outpatients in 2024 and recent expansions including the Women's Health Centre - Kings Road and Women's Health Centre - Harley Street. It will build on the success of The Shard Outpatients - approaching its 10-year anniversary in 2026 - which plays an important role in delivering healthcare services to the City's workforce. St Paul's Outpatients will be operated by London Bridge Hospital, with specialist consultants joining from across HCA UK's network, including London Bridge Hospital, Princess Grace Hospital and The Harley Street Clinic. The centre will range in a wide variety of specialties, with expertise including women's health, orthopaedics, cardiac services, and cancer care. Soraya Chamberlain, Vice President of Corporate Sales at HCA Healthcare UK said: "With the opening of HCA Healthcare UK's St Paul's Outpatients in early 2027, we are strengthening the support we provide to employers and employees across the City. This new centre will offer convenient access to GP appointments, health screening, diagnostics and specialist care - all in one location - informed by the needs and insights gained through working with many of these businesses." John Reay, President and CEO of HCA Healthcare UK said: "Our £17m investment is part of our ongoing commitment to investing in our network to provide convenient access points of care for patients across London. From primary care and health screening through to specialist diagnostics and treatment, this new centre will further enhance the breadth and reach of the high-quality care we provide across the capital."
