Highlands County breaks ground on new Fire station serving Sebring airport area. Highlands County leadership recently marked a significant investment in public safety with the groundbreaking of the new Highlands County Fire Rescue Station #23. The new station will strengthen emergency response capabilities for Sebring Regional Airport, the Airport Industrial Park, Sebring International Raceway, and the surrounding Spring Lake community. Designed to meet both current and future needs, the facility will provide firefighters and emergency personnel with modern resources to support a growing region. In March, the Highlands County Board of County Commissioners awarded Marmer Construction as the project's general contractor. This development represents an important step forward in enhancing safety, resiliency, and infrastructure supporting the airport and its surrounding economic assets.
